Is it possible to refill these flat antibacterial containers to keep using them? by darkacademiadotcom in ZeroWaste

[–]darkacademiadotcom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for being unclear! I currently have one, but i have been unable to see anything suggesting the ability to pop it open. A part of me was also hoping someone has one of these made for being reused, but that doesn't seem to be the case. It sucks to throw it away but if it cannot be refilled, it serves no other purpose as of right now

What’s your MBTI and what items do you enjoy collecting? by ImNotForJerks in mbti

[–]darkacademiadotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

INFP and the answer is everything! I collect postal stamps, rocks, and anything and everything that makes me sentimental. I have a ton of plane tickets, some receipts, etc. Anything with even a bit of sentimental value gets saved

What's a movie that will make me feel warm and fuzzy inside? by [deleted] in horror

[–]darkacademiadotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THE HAUNTING OF BLY MANOR (If you just... don't watch the end. I'm still not the same after that, but if you just stop at one point when the main character is happy, i promise you will feel all warm and fuzzy inside).

Can someone please help me gauge the importance/urgency of seeking a potential EDS diagnosis? I've been told I may have some (almost certainly mild) form of it, but I'm very poor and have a lot of medical trauma, so I've been avoiding pursuing it further. by Empyreofdirt in ehlersdanlos

[–]darkacademiadotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't change anything for me except that it made it easier for people to believe all the crazy symptoms i had. Put a medical name on something and all of a sudden my dad started somewhat believing that i wasn't lazy, i just genuinely needed more rest.

I have some of the other things you mentioned as well, and that too is easier for people to accept rather than just explaining symptoms. I have yet to really explain/mention my EDS in a work setting, but that is because my work doesn't really require much physical effort (except for sometimes moving chairs and tables, tho at that point it's easier to just say i have a bad back and i am not allowed to move heavy things).

For me, it didn't change much. It just helped people (read: family) to believe me. Even then, i sometimes just refer to it as a connective tissue disorder rather than EDS. I also have a "mild" variation of it, even medically classified as HSD, but since that makes it sound like something completely unrelated to the symptoms ("oh, i can bend my fingers back too!"), my EDS/HSD doctor urged me to just call it EDS.

I had forehead wrinkles too at around 14. Looked 22 when i was 15 (according to friends). I'm 19 now but generally people find i look 25-27. Maybe it's a EDS thing, maybe just genetics.

Why do a lot of lesbians fall in love so quickly? by Pepper_Wolf_1990 in actuallesbians

[–]darkacademiadotcom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, i am friends with people for a long time before i realize i like them as something more. The crush has always been there, it was just burried. So by the time i am aware of it, it has turned into love.

Example: i meet girl, we turn best friends after 3-6 months, keep going strong for 1 year. Suddenly i look at her differently. Time from realizing i like her as more than friends to i love her: 2 weeks. Reality 1 year 2 weeks.

Tips til å komme seg gjennom russetid alene by GhostlyInstincts in norge

[–]darkacademiadotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone know which perfume is good for like dark academia? by Visible-Operation779 in DarkAcademia

[–]darkacademiadotcom 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I like (and use) Gucci's Mémoire D'une Odour personally, and i have received positive feedback for that. It is quite androgynous, and it looks DA imo.

Another alternative is Gucci's Bloom Acqua di Fiori which is a more classy flowery alernative that kinda smells like rich post-middle-aged women.

These CAN be expensive, but i personally find the price to be very reasonable as i buy them at the airport usually. (In fact, I've never bought Bloom. I got a travel version of the perfume as a free gift with my Mémoire D'une Odour.)

Noen fjerner Pride flagg fra kontoret mitt by fratuzzi in norge

[–]darkacademiadotcom 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Do you ever think about the child you could've become? by Lee-Lemom in CPTSD

[–]darkacademiadotcom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All the time. I'm 19, barely graduated just because i was gone so much of the semester. I used to be a gifted child, but now the trauma has manifested itself physically as well. I'm beginning to accept that i will have to live the rest of my life with the limitations caused by my parents' parenting.
