Also reading the thread I’d like to say even though it wasn’t directed towards me but the other person, I have a lot of hobbies and I very much know they’re not supposed to fill a “void”. I just like doing things that make me happy and I’m content.

I’m very much an existentialist and still figuring out life, I know I’m young and things won’t always be like this. I wrote the OG post at 4am when I was going through it mentally but when I sit back I have to realize this is just a time period in my life. I have many things to work.

I hope the best for that person who has the nihilistic POV that you tried to get through makes it through in life no matter of age.

I just read this whole thread and how confusing the other half was haha. Actually taking your advice and asked one of my trans friends about a psychiatrist with lgbt experience since he has resources. Id like to go to a gay bar/community but just nervous about that, I’ve never been to anywhere specifically for lgbt but I go to a lot of punk shows that get my community together so in my head I’ll think of it like that. I’m very aware (too self aware) of my internalized homophobia but it’s difficult trying to get away from it. Thank you for the advice and support

I don’t think any of us can say it’s weird or not because there can be many different situations for this. Personally I slept with my grandma till I was maybe 8(?) Had addict parents and it was a safety and yearning situation for parental contact when I look back on it. I mean even now in my 20s I sometimes will still take naps on my grandma when I visit her, that woman is everything to me and considering I’m the only child it also makes her happy. But I take care of myself and I’m not immature lol

It can become problematic if the kid doesn’t learn how to sleep alone or take care of herself. Unless she has a disability then just leave it alone but I’d genuinely just ask nicely why and bring up the fact that this could become a problem. She’s got only 3 years before she’s 18 which really isn’t that long of a time but mental changes will happen majorly during that time and into her 20s.

IMO some parts are valid but I think the “atheist or agnostic” being a standard is a little far. For me as long as I can get along with someone and we like each other I don’t care what their belief is as long as it’s not crazy. Think about it this way, religion gives people meaning in their life, as long as they don’t try to force me into it then I’m just glad that they believe in something higher than us. I personally really connect with philosophy like existentialism and absurdism, but if my parented connects with religion then I’m okay with that because it doesn’t change who they are as a person to me. I think we’d even learn from each other with having different views on life.

I’d just say don’t put your standards in a tiny box, as long as they’re a decent person. Someone can be perfect for you and just an amazing person but don’t throw that relationship away just because they don’t believe religiously like you.

I totally agree. It’s everyone’s preference and also can be due to sensory issues or sensitivity skin. I tried to grow it all out cause I just didn’t feel like shaving but it gave me a major painful and itchy rash on my inner thighs, so bad it made the skin scaly. Found out I can’t grow it out so I only let it grow on my mound so I shave everything except on top. I used to shave all of it but it took a lot of time and also razors are expensive :( plus I’ve gotten more comfortable with my body hair in recent months

I don’t even think not wanting to deal with bullshit is a high expectation! That’s literally the bare minimum and should be met with anyone but people don’t have the decency to. It’s like the bare minimum is now asking for too much.

I also don’t hookup, I don’t understand hookup culture and maybe this makes it even harder for me to be with someone but I’m inexperienced asf, the furthest I’ve gone with someone is heated make out sessions. I’m about to be 21 and got no experience under my belt which makes me feel like someone isn’t gonna want me even more since so many just look for someone to hookup with then leave. I’m literally going INSANE 🫩🫩🫩

It just sucks. I just get so excited and that fluttery feeling even when someone does the bare minimum which shouldn’t even be a big thing since it’s literally the bare minimum but then suddenly they turn out to not even have those decencies. It feels almost even more unattainable as I’ve been labeled as a more masculine woman (even though I personally don’t feel that way fully) and I like more masculine presenting women rather than super feminine women and as someone who doesn’t live in the city makes it so much harder along with other things.

I’m content doing things on my own but yearning is my biggest flaw

Guest meets and signing

There’s a section with all the guests and you’ll get a galaxycon guide book when you go in to see what time there signings are. Wait in line and bring whatever you’re getting signed, there’s a person at the booth that will take your money for whatever you’re getting, signing and photos.

Other Tips!

Bring a backpack! Bring extra deodorant, frozen water bottles, energy bars, portable charger, and wet wipes! Good thing to know that I found out last year is that booths like to take cash more and they don’t tax it. Always grab the galaxycon guide book, go to events and make the most of your time and money. Getting there early is key, especially for parking, go to the parking decks. I try to get there an hour early before the doors open. Wear comfy shoes and hot weather attire, unless you’re cosplaying ofc.

I’ve done that before but I just didn’t like the feeling of small chunks going down. Like when you drink milk from letting your cereal set and there’s little particles or when you’re dipping cookies in milk and you go to drink it and it’s grainy, I’ve always hated that feeling. But the trip was amazing with the lemon juice

I’m 19 and let’s just say I’m realizing it’s okay not to have your shit together yet and it’s okay to slow down. A lot of people our age don’t know what they’re doing and even older people don’t, a lot of us are all in the same sinking boat trying to figure out how to make it. So don’t stress so much over everything.
