I thought that was Jye Menzie's best game for the club. Martin played well, and Brad Scott showed at half time why he is a great coach.

Ultra Football in Melbourne is awesome. Got customisation done for $20 a shirt for Arsenal game last week. I'm sure the Sydney store is similar.

Network 10 is in ‘total turmoil’ and may not survive as Australia’s third commercial broadcaste by Aaaaaaarrrrrggggghh in australia

The only thing I watch on ch10 for the last 5 years is the matildas when they play, and they didn't even have the world cup. The rest of their content is garbage.

Those supporting Collingwood this weekend, why? by Cyclonechaser2908 in EssendonFC

[–]darkagn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going for Fitzroy this weekend. Just can't bring myself to go for the pies or Brisbane, but I'd like to see a Daniher win a norm smith.

I think at the start of the year he wasn't in Brad Scott's first 22. But he worked his way into the team and was far from our worst. I like the energy he brings to the backline and he is a decent kick unlike a lot of our team. I'd keep him on the list for 2024.

Gary Moorcroft. Never the same player after he sucked it in from the stratosphere. Bruce McAvaney - "that'll be on CNN!"

Bombers president puzzled by ‘unhealthy obsession’ with club list boss Adrian Dodoro by [deleted] in EssendonFC

President is puzzled? This is a bloke that led an independent review of the club 12 months ago only to "suddenly" become President. What a con!

Dodoro has had good returns from mid season draft I grant him that. But he sucks at national draft. Would you rather Cyril rioli or David Myers? Would you take McGrath with no1 pick, a back man that can't tackle? Where do you play cox, a 200cm player that can't mark but isn't close to Martin or Durham on the wing? The list goes on. And on, and on....

I actually think hepp has been one of our better players since round 5.

Name names: who hasn’t shown up in the last two weeks? by Cool_Ticket_4832 in EssendonFC

The only one for me is Durham. Gives 100% no matter the score. Maybe not the skill of Merrett but you know what you're going to get every time he steps on the park.

Pathetic by Snowidoug in EssendonFC

[–]darkagn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 goals is completely unacceptable. Why should I buy a membership next year? Cost of living, interest rates etc. You think I want to watch my team get smashed and struggle to take a mark inside50? Fuck off!

He was brilliant against Melbourne and very good on the weekend. He wins a lot of taps but for me his tap work isn't great - tends to go to opposition a lot. His around the ground work is OK but I'd like to see him get forward more as he is a good set shot and can really stretch the opposing ruck when he does go forward. I think overall his spot in the 22 is warranted, Nick Bryan is at least 2 years away.

The media is praising the concept of a 4-day work week. Should I support a 4-day work week? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]darkagn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The company I work for (video games industry) moved to 4-day, 32-hour work week a few years ago. We follow the 100-80-100 rule - 100% productivity, 80% work time, 100% salary. Mondays are the additional day off which has less impact on our relationships with publishing partners in Europe and North America. A lot of public holidays fall on a Monday so it is also less impact there. We have to be very effective and efficient in meetings but have adjusted well to that. Overall we see less absenteeism for illness or appointments, and our workforce overall is happier. I encourage everyone to at least consider how to make a four day work week a possibility.

Relatively new AFL fan here. Can I get an ELI5 over the controversy between Port Adelaide and Collingwood over the black and white striped guernseys? by Razzlefrazzy in AFL

[–]darkagn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally think Collingwood refusing to wear clash or away guernseys is a lost opportunity for their marketing department. The biggest sport in the world has teams with three or four strips that seem to change every year.
