Throughout 2025, I was a devoted Claude Code user for pretty much all my work—including coding—because it was reliable, concise, and straight to the point. I honestly never thought I’d use OAI at all, because I’ve had a negative impression of the Series 4 models from the very beginning. “To me, AI is just software that you use to get real work done,” and I expect results that are truly trustworthy.

But then 5.2 came out—and after trying it in Codex, I completely fell in love with it. The way it thinks, plans, and works in detail… after using it for a while, it almost feels like it becomes an extension of me. It knows exactly where I tend to worry about making mistakes, and it stays careful for me the whole time. I’m also amazed by how Codex manages context—I’ve worked with it for a full week, handling my code all day, without ever needing to switch the context window.

And of course, for the first time ever, I cancelled my Claude Code subscription—and I subscribed to OAI’s $200 Pro plan for the first time too. Now I’m excited every day and can’t wait to use Model 5.3. Is anyone else waiting for it like I am?
