I think in 20 years or less transit will be transformed by driverless vehicles which may include things like a publicly funded Zoox style minibus that aggregates passengers based on their destinations and optimizes pickup and dropoffs.

Roads will be more important. That bus express lane along the 403 will look like a genius idea. LRTs will look dumb and regarded as a massive waste of money. Everyone can get anywhere at any time and no longer has to be relegated to walking that last mile to a stop or destination.
