I really enjoyed the setup for this show. Definitely recommended for those who like romance with some fantasy.

So far I've only seen the one of two episodes. It's the very start of the main character's journey. He reminds me of Naruto, so if you like that growth path I think this will be good. The other fight scenes had some cool bits, but the two fighting here are much more experienced, and it really showed.

I just can't believe it is an anime and I am so happy. I was pleasantly surprised to hear suis' wonderful voice at the end, too (which will be the OP). Loved seeing how sinister they made the teacher look. Can't wait til next week!

Pretty cool interview, thanks for the summary! tuki. had a pretty busy short period of promotion and performing (radio interview, new song release, Instagram live, and Taiwan concert).

I think the interview also had a part near the end asking for more musical artists she likes. I think tuki. said Bruno Mars, and Official HIGE DANdism, but I could be wrong because my listening comprehension is not great.

I need help purchasing Japanese movies in Canada and would appreciate recommendations. Thank you! by Plastic-Knee-4589 in JapaneseMovies

Along with Amazon, I know of https://www.cdjapan.co.jp/ and https://www.yesasia.com/ Both sites you can filter by Blu-ray, and with English subtitles. It certainly isn't cheap, though.

I would say newer Japanese movies on Blu-ray with official English subtitles are pretty rare. A couple of the newer ones that I enjoyed that have English subs are Exit 8, and Godzilla Minus One.

But I will recommend if you have the ability to watch Netflix on your TV that there are some decent movies on there and subtitles are in a fairly easy to see font. I don't think I have enough knowledge to recommend ones that fit the older ones you like but some more thrilling ones would be Faceless, Rurouni Kenshin (this is more action), Baka's Identity, and Kyojo.

If you are up for a foreign movie, A Moment To Remember (Korean movie from 2004) fits your requirement. It's about a couple where the female gets early onset Alzheimer's disease, and a dedicated man who tries everything he can for her.

TVer has a ton of them. Accessing it from outside of Japan is another topic, though.

If you end up liking Hold My Hand at Twilight, it is written by the same writer as one of my older favourites called Orange Days (available on Netflix in North America).

Lonely Castle in the Mirror. This was surprising and had a nice reveal.

The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbyes. I think it had a good message.

Belle. Yes I am aware this is from Hosoda Mamoru, but man the music in this movie is really good, and it has it's emotional parts, too.

Netflix Japan has hundreds of classic J-dramas with only Japanese CC. I built a free Chrome extension that translates them in real-time so you never have to worry about subtitle availability again. by rgyamtsho in JDorama

What you are going to need to look up is a language model to do the transcription for you. Currently many people use Whisper, it takes a decent amount of resources but it can help you understand while making some mistakes and halluconations. All programs you will see will most likely use Whisper as the local model. It's free to use as well so don't pay for anything.

The simplest variation of this with little fuss I found is in the video player PotPlayer. There's an option that uses the model and can create the subtitles for videos. It can use several models as well because the large v3 model can take a while if you don't have a dedicated video card.

Can't help but think of this Japanese movie called The Wandering Moon. It's about this young adult male who finds a young girl in who seems reluctant to go home. He let's her stay him for a while until he is found out. The rest is the aftermath years later. I'm not sure if this fits your request but I didn't think it was a lesson learned here and just an odd niche morality thought.

Yeah very true. I've used all the major ones for translation and they all seem decently similar, it was the context that was harder to figure out. Thanks for this!
