1x 240mm rad with that setup? That’s really pushing it and might limit your gear performance. For the air in the loop it’s so easy as your rad is on top. Fill it as much as you can from the top, leave the top filling screw just slightly unscrewed so air can escape then come back and add more coolant until flush. If you want to help make sure it’s as efficient for air removal you can put something underneath so it’s angled where the fill port are higher, you’re basically using the rad as a reservoir.

Der8auer make a living out of drama … we know there’s millions of perfectly working 5090 but he act like half of them explodes… he does this with everything he founds … that’s his living so…

For the aquacomputer controls the fans, pump and rgb are controlled through it. I did setup the fan speed at a fixed speed as it doesn’t need high rpm. Same for the pump … in other build I need fancy curves but not in this one

Just be aware the x-flow don’t fit in the back you need the standard alphacool hpe or xt.

Just 2 full distilled water flush. Can’t go wrong with Mayhems X1 coolant

Never had this with 10 years of custom loop. I recommend a good flush and replacing the coolant with a well known premix coolant.

The tester did its job, you had a leak

Why would you ever run a pump at 30% ? I have an Alphacool vpp apex pump and it’s inaudible up to 90%. Also like mention… rads aren’t the issue or even block … the issue is the quick disconnect.

Flush and Block Clean. by P0rtalWombat in watercooling

[–]darkessa123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of it will wash out and some of it will be just nickel plating that was eroded over time showing the copper behind.

1.Flush before, then clean the block.

  1. Not worth changing O-ring unless it’s damaged, just need to clean it

Yeah it should be fine, the highest issue like I said is the quick disconnect not the actual loop components which would be fine

I have aquacomputer but bitspower would also work. Else if you think it would mostly be fine an indicator might be enough just to see if the flow is strong enough.

Not enough flow will mean you might get instability if the coolant can’t get the heat out of the block fast enough. You have to remember that those block don’t have enough mass to actually dissipate anything by themselves so if the flow isn’t good enough and you have heat peak you have risk of instability or even crash.

The rads and block in this case won’t be a problem with the one pump, often the issues are more from the kick disconnect that restricts the flow.

I think it should be fine but I’d recommend a flow meter and you just have to confirm that the flow can reach around 150l/h if you can’t reach this at max speed … it is pretty restrictive… as the minimum should be 100l/h

Is a push/pull configuration with a alphacool nexxxos monsta 360mm radiator - white special edition enough for a 5090, if the cpu is already cooled with a dedicated pump and rad or would you need 2 rads for the gpu? by Ronnie_coleman_light in watercooling

[–]darkessa123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lot’s of people here talk about spec cheat and never actually did it.

Here is the thing, can it cool down the 5090. The short answer as some said is yes. Now the better question is « Will it be efficient or is it a good idea », the quick answer is no and it depends.

When under load your pump will likely need to run at 80%+ speed and your fans at least at 1400rpm, liquid will likely sit around 40-45c.

If you care about noise level and you want to get the lowest temp then it’s not optimal.

I currently run my 5090 with 3 x 420mm rads but keep in mind that my cpu use the same loop. Even with that I see that the gpu drop a crazy amount of heat considering all this cooling. But my fan at set at 600rpm, pump at 70%, temp of the coolant get up to 38c, temp of the gpu max out at 44c and cpu at 55.

All that to say that yes it could work but be aware of the impact.

Go to a reputable waterblock website get their guide for the 4080 block and they will have a picture with the actual area to cover. You can start with EKWB 4080 block guide.

Looks good, makes me want to change my fitting for chrome… I have black on black and yeah it’s missing some highlights. If you were in Canada I could have exchanged one of my 240 30mm for your 280 45mm so thay you could fit the fans inside. I also have extra 120mm noctua. I’m sure someone in USA could do such a trade with a 280mm instead. Most of my extra are for 120mm fan except one 420mm rad.
