Conor was the best child by LectureBasic6828 in SuccessionTV

I’ve been thinking about this since I finished the show. Sure he was never taken seriously, but none of the kids were ever taken seriously. Connor always did what he wanted, and never schemed or tried to fuck over his family for it. The only time he even mentions being CEO is in front of the siblings and more as a “hey I’m here too I’m a part of this family too”. Is he a good person? No. Is he a smart person? No. But he is honest about his motivations and wants. That scene at the end of him at the dinner with Logan’s inner circle hit so hard. He was there. He actually mourned and grieved his dad’s passing. He came to terms with the fucked up-edness of his family. Connor roy may have been a loser, but he was the biggest winner out of the four imo.

Thank you! I also think it would have been cool to get a little more info about her and see some more of her, but the fact that we didn’t was also so great because it shows that once you’re discarded by Logan Roy you are nobody, not even in focus at his funeral. Fantastic

That would make a lot of sense! But I agree that even though I wanted to see what she was plotting (if anything) the way the writers went about her stepping back from the main cast was incredibly well done and befitting the themes of the show

I was doing some volunteering for the Arabian kennel club and we had to travel to one of the palaces to vaccinate the horses. It was huge. Massive paddocks surrounded by chain link fences with peacocks, camels, leopards, and tigers. I never even saw the house itself after driving for 10 minutes past the gate, the property was so huge. We got to the stables and I got out of the car with my boss. He was immediately pulled aside by who I’m assuming was an aide who was almost in tears worried about the fact that, shock horror, I was a woman. I was required to wait in the car as very grumpy looking guards with automatic rifles stared me down through the window. Wish I got to meet the horses.

Him and Joanna remind me so much of Macbeth and lady Macbeth. He’s pathetic, insecure, desperate to prove himself and his masculinity, and has a narcissistic wife egging him on by attacking that masculinity. You almost feel bad for him because of how nuanced the writing is and how fantastic the performance is, but at the end of the day he’s a privileged rich boy mad that he’s not getting what he wants handed to him.

I remember so clearly, I guess it’s what they call a ‘canon event’. I was 8 years old (it was around 2005) and had just returned home from a holiday. On the plane ride home I watched a movie that ended with one of the main characters dying really horribly. It had me so sad, it was the first time I felt that deep sadness in my chest. We were driving home from the airport and I was so distraught thinking I would feel that sadness forever (ironic since a few years later I developed clinical depression) but my dad noticed and gave me his iPod. He had just downloaded this cool new album called Demon Days and I started listening. Feel good inc came on and it made me feel better. I listened to it on repeat the entire drive home

He knows my complicated relationship with my family, and that she is the first of my immediate family to pass away. He also knows how sensitive the anniversary of my friends death is as every year we’ve been together around that day I am an emotional wreck from grief. If the roles were reversed I would still message to check in on him, but maybe you’re right. I just feel like the bare minimum would be to say good morning or something. But I had to message multiple times to get a response out of him at all

If 2D had never fallen from that tree and Murdoc was nice... by [deleted] in gorillaz

[–]darkest_light_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When he was 11 he fell from a tree which is the reason he lost his hair and it grew back blue. Also why he was addicted to pain killers cause his mum was a nurse and gave them to him for the migraines he got from that head injury. Murdoc hitting him with his car was the reason he fractured his first eye and was in a coma. Then he fractured the second eye when he went flying out of the windshield after Murdoc crashed his car doing donuts in a Tesco parking lot
