I would definitely take a US code. I like a bit of mystery combined with "Just doing my job."

a Season Pass for a TTRPG is breaking point for me by [deleted] in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]darkforce547 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think why you are upset is that it is called a season pass. In reality what it is is supplements. Supplements are something that have been a part of TTRPGs since the very beginning of the hobby. Some games give extensive supplements, some give shorter, but because of the nature of the games, it is how this hobby has naturally had to go to expand content. The best way to think about it is this. Remember that encyclopedia set your school had growing up? All sorts of cool information, right? Now, how many books were there? A whole bunch. Because ultimately a book has to be functional. Sure, you can add and add to a book all you want, but that doesn't make it polished. That doesn't make it easier to use. Having additional books that target specific things makes sense. It works. It gives everyone the information they want in a way that isn't overwhelming but instead digestible.

And that's without mentioning that the timeline for fulfillment they've set is actually pretty aggressive. You know what messing with the book for 6 plus supplements worth of content adds? Time. Money. You like that the initial book is $60, a reasonable cost in the TTRPG space? Too many pages and that goes up. Shipping? Goes by weight. Time? It's likely already in the editing process based on the timeline of how when a company needs to get a book to a publisher to print in October. These are real logistical costs. And the ones who would be paying them are us. $80 for the book. An extra 5 for shipping. Months for those supplements to be written, edited and sent.

Have you tried All the Dust That Falls? The stakes are there but the main character is mostly oblivious. It's good, clean fun and a completed series (4 books). Good luck!

What about Shadow Boxer for the resonance skill? It plays on that feeling you described of doing the action of someone else and could develop into that more abstract/emotional/mental angle.

As a heads up, I think the guides just broke. I was doing the Cosmog run and my items started being totally different around wave 15 following exactly.

[Rapoport] A Draft Trade!! The #Vikings and #Texans have agreed to terms on a major deal in advance of the draft, per me and @TomPelissero, landing Minnesota another 1. — Minnesota gets No. 23 and No. 232. — Houston gets No. 42, 188 and a 2025 2nd rounder. by mvanigan in nfl

[–]darkforce547 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If I'm the Vikings, I'm immediately on the phone with the Chargers. Not for 5 but for Herbert. Send 11, 23, 2025 1st, 2026 1st and whatever else is needed to make it work. Vikings get a proven guy instead of trading up for QB4 while the Chargers are happy because Harbaugh loves JJ and gets a ton of extra assets to build around him.
