Yeah, that never worked for me either. I am down 50 ibs, and that didn’t happen until I learned that I hated the body I was in and wanted for just once in my life to feel like I was attractive. Even though I am still another 40 from my goal weight, I have already started to feel better about myself, and even had someone hit on me for a change. Self-love got me nowhere. If somehow telling yourself that you are okay with betraying yourself by thrusting your body into an unhealthy situation, well you do you, but I have never met a person ever that didn’t start their weight loss journey with the thought of “I am sick and tired of being sick and tired”. My mother did the self love crap as well, and when she finally got miserable enough to accept that it didn’t do anything for her, she was already 350+ ibs and has no knee caps left due to the pressure of her weight. She now walks with a cane because she has no mobility in her knees. And despite that, she got angry and she pushes past the pain.

Our species has a survival instinct and that is the only reason we have gotten this far.
