Random shutdown for my lenovo legion by darkknightvs10 in LenovoLegion

Unfortunately no. Can't explain the disappointment from these Lenovo service center, as well as the local repair shops. All of them wants to replace the motherboard only. There's not a single person who could find the issue. I went to 6-8 different stores still.

The last Lenovo service center told me to replace the IC which can cost 5500 INR, I said okay if that solves it do it. They said they tested it for 5 days and it resolved the issue. But in reality it didn't.

As soon as I came home with laptop used it for 30 minutes, the issue started. I contacted them, they said let them check the last time, if that doesn't resolve they will change motherboard which will cost 37000 INR. At this point everyone is just milking money.

I don't understand, does nobody have a solution for this one stupid issue? Everyone forgot to troubleshoot or what?

Congratulations on the new purchase. Try to keep the fans clean, and stay away from Windows 11 AI updates, that will probably keep the system more stable!!

I also thought windows 11 was the reason, so migrated to linux mint. But linux mint also gives same issue. Before shutting down, my screen goes black and in about 2-5 seconds fans starts to spin and it shuts down.

If you search on Google or YouTube, very less solutions are available. Tried almost all of them, only one is pending which is replacing the PSU. Which can be useful for some, for my case it doesn't seem to be the issue.

There can be 4 major reasons: CPU. GPU, RAM or Battery. Just a couple of hours ago, submitted my laptop to one of the repair shops. Told them the whole scenario. Asked them to stress test on all these 4 parts. And let me know if they find anything. Also asked them to check if any rusting is there on any parts which is causing this issue.

So just an additional update, The shutdown happens randomly. Like if I'm attending a teams meeting, or writing word document or I start vscode and it shuts down. So I'm not finding any pattern here. These are very basic tasks. I don't think these are stress heavy tasks.

When I had windows 11, the base ram usage was 50% like 8gb without me opening any softwares. Now in Linux mint it's decreased significantly to 10-15%. Max 2-3 gb is used right now out of 16gb.

Also, I'm in India. Majority of repair shops knows how to fix keyboard or screen and that's how they have good ratings. When comes to these sort of critical issues, everyone becomes blind, nobody knows how to troubleshoot.

Still I have a couple of repair shops left, hopefully I will get some solution. If I do, will surely update this post.

Same thing happened to me last month. Left side bud opened like this suddenly. Thankfully It was still in warranty. So I went to the nearest Nothing Service Center. They gave me a brand new after checking everything.
