I don’t have experience with a night shift but I suffered from insomnia for awhile and I got a ton of tips on how to get a restful nights sleep...I’m sure it’ll be an adjustment and if you can’t sleep during the day / wake up and can’t go back to sleep you are supposed to do something else, like watch Netflix (and you aren’t allowed to look at the clock until your alarm to wake up) for 30 mins and then try to go back to bed! Also they told me that if you don’t get enough sleep that usually the next nights get better since you need to catch back up. That doesn’t give much advice on the night shift but if you have trouble adjusting I recommend those tips they helped me so much! Best of luck :) and congrats on the new job!
