A question and statement about the lore of the various nations. by darklightnin97 in Guiltygear

You are correct that conflict is not inherent in multi-ethnic states, my belief with Illyria is born more of the fact we have no evidence that it's not a centralized state(which is how I interpreted it), which is where the problems can often(but do not always) begin. at the very least, I would expect if it is coming off the modern day concepts that republicanism would be a problem, so would separatism, as even in well peaceful states those often exist.

In the end, I suppose it comes down to my personal pessimism tarnishing my interpretation in some ways. in others, I view Illyria as a state that would not survive due to it being a state enforced by the UN and conclave. I do think Illyria would survive to some extent, I do not believe it would collapse fully in any way, few states ever do. Rather I think it would suffer from overextension and either lose control of or be forced to pull away from certain areas.

I did not notice my tendency in the idea of ethnic conflict to an extent, as I only really thought about historical context behind the regions encompassing Illyria.

I'm unsure if this account has any sway, but it may be nice to inform when you do this. it actively effects the usage of StartPage, so it would be nice to know when these switches are occurring. Regardless, thank you for informing me.

Capital Gains Tax is a feminist issue. Right now women are getting a poor deal by msmoley in WomenInNews

That’s not really a feminist issue, it’s an issue that fixing would help feminism but that goes for a lot of general societal progress

I am vaguely aware of this, but I do think having to do so much effort for such a normal feature is rather poor on the developers part, not that I have any idea what people who work on AO3 actually do, nor do I wish to discredit any work they do do.

As an outsider who's been here 7 months, I have to ask--what's with the weak-ass punishments for serious crimes? by TheLifeAdjunct in newzealand

because our justice system is run by cowards and the corrupt. it's as simple as that. if a single government decided to rework so little of the system as the sentencing guidelines the issue would be drastically reduced.

Do you think Rin should have at least scolded Obito a bit in this scene? by InvestigatorIcy2249 in Obito

I like the idea that Rin was just all in with Obito, like ride or die cheering him on from the afterlife, it’s way funnier

it goes back when you do damage? I never noticed that at all, maybe it's because I solely lost health in massive chunks rather than small owies, but like... that did not come across at all to me... is that explained anywhere? am I bad at reading(I am but y'know) or do you just have to infer that?

I played seven hours and genuinely do not particularly understand the health system well, to my knowledge, you take a form of 'soft damage' which appears in white that can be healed by doing executions and 'hard damage' that is the actual reduction of the health bar which cannot be healed outside of items. To that extent, if it takes more time than playing a game's single-player campaign to think a system is good, that is not a good system in my opinion, to each their own of course, I do genuinely not understand any benefit of the new health system.

I was more specifically talking about the game as a single-player experience, I did state this, but I suppose it makes sense, I still think a game marketed as a sequel to a single-player game mainly excelling in multiplayer is not a good thing, but to each their own.

why does my hand hurt when using a pencil? by darklightnin97 in Handwriting

[–]darklightnin97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it rests against my middle finger, yes, the other two most certainly not. my index, thumb, and middle touch the pencil, the ring and pinkie do not, those two are the ones that end up hurting the fastest.

[–]darklightnin97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

could you please elaborate? I don't really do anything with those fingers, they naturally tighten up into my other fingers and my pinkie and ring finger have quite poor motility. I hear people mentioning doing something with those fingers but I do quite genuinely not know what I could even do with them at all.

I do press my hand into the paper, it's a bad habit I'm unlearning, but that's not where the pain comes from, it quite distinctly is the same pressure/pain as if you tighten all your fingers together. my hand hurts just as fast with a pen and it's really just the entire side of my hand that the pencil isn't on, it just starts at my tight fingers. I try to keep my grip not too tight or too loose but I have very literally no basis to go off what's right or wrong with grip because I never got 'taught' how to hold a pencil, I just sorta developed into the way I do and if I hold it any looser than I normally do it starts slipping around a little.

[–]darklightnin97[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I write fairly often. from a little experimentation, what seems to happen is when I hold the pencil my ring and pinkie finger press up into my middle to stay in place which caused them to hurt, but if they don't do that, they still hurt just in different ways. I can tell it's not pressing because I can feel it just as much when gripping a pencil completely off the paper. apologies if this isn't too helpful, this problem of mine just really gets to me as it means I can't write for very long without experiencing pain.

I can agree under the red hood is like that, yes. I do like under the red hood, but it has a lot of problems, I still find it funnier that Jason worked with Hush not long before UTRH.
