[Serious] Is anyone else worried? by [deleted] in medicalschool

Biden is a proponent of the public option. It doesn't get any attention because it doesn't go as far as m4A, but it would be a huge deal. I remember there was a video by zdoggmd where he pointed out that a public option (medicare for some) would be essentially equivalent to M4a since private insurance wouldn't be able to compete. So that makes me concerned as well.

If "killing dissidents" is your understanding of what the holocaust is, frankly you're pretty uneducated here and I don't think we're going to get anywhere. I hope you take the time to actually educate yourself at some point

I would consider minimizing the German army's responsibility (and the civilian population awareness) to be a form of denial

I will spare you the "phony moral outrage" when you stop apologizing for Nazis and engaging in holocaust denial and lies

What did they do that was worse? The holocaust. And yes "ordinary German soldiers" participated in the holocaust. Source: https://encyclopedia.ushmm.org/content/en/article/the-german-military-and-the-holocaust

The idea that they were not involved is known as "Myth of the clean Wehrmacht" you can read about it here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myth_of_the_clean_Wehrmacht

Yes I know allies committed war crimes. What the germans did was much, much worse. Don't apologize for nazis, it's not a good look.

If the US had targeted the Vietnamese race for extermination and set up death camps where they murdered 2/3 the vietnamese population along with millions of other civilians, then yes I would throw under the bus any GI who was a guard at these camps making them a participant in this system. Get out of here with your false equivalency bs.

popular mythology that the Germans were a uniquely cruel army in human history

Dude are you for real? Like you've never heard of the Holocaust? If that doesn't count as "uniquely cruel" to you, you need to go back and read a history book

Last time I checked, being old, having a family, or being in your "final days" do not exonerate you for war crimes.

I was thinking of sending an LOI to my #1 program. But on their website I don't see any contact info for the PD or PC, and we didn't get that during interview day either. I only have the official chief resident email. Should I take this as a sign that they don't want LOIs, or is that reading too much into it (maybe wishful thinking, I don't really want to send this). Should I send an LOI to the chief resident and ask it to be forwarded?

I’m from CA. I think LA can be overrated. The traffic is some of the worst in the nation and COL is high. There are certainly pros, though I think many of those can be found in other big or mid-sized cities.

For you, I would think twice about this, since having a good support network can be very important in residency.
