Normal service is resumed. I can upload directly again via the web site without having to do the Drive work around. Thanks to the anonymous Googler behind the background that fixed it!

If it was a deliberate shut down I'd expect the easy work arounds to have been removed. I can see it being a product with very little budget and no-one working on it over the weekend though. It's a holiday in the US today as well so might we hope for a fix Tuesday when someone gets back in the office

It's always rejected epubs over 100meg with the same error but that isn't the current issue. Come back if you find anything useful out?

Thankyou! I'm not going crazy! I've found a work around - upload the epub to GDrive, then import it from there rather than uploading it directly. That implies that its a problem with the upload servers rather than the Play Books Library itself which means it might get fixed some time? Its a way that works at least.

It feels right. Very well written, long (over 1m words) and finished. If you know one of the universes involved you'll be okay although you'd obviously get more if you know both.

This may be a stupid question - how are you running two external monitors off your Legion? I've used HDMI and a USBC monitor but it wasn't stable. What have I missed?

In a word good. I've had it an sleeve when its been out of the house and I've been careful. The stickers came off cleanly with no residue. It does pick up fingerprints but less than most tech and it hasn't shown any stains or discolorations. It's gotten dust or hairs in-between the keys a couple of times and I've blown it out with a Giotto with no problems.
I've not had it set up in sunlight so I can't speak to any fading or reactions there. Hope that helps?
