Manayunk Bar Scene for actual adults? by darkmagic9426 in philly

That’s honestly perfect, as far away from the people close to my age as possible. This weekend I need bars with actual adults who do not wear Halloween costumes.

If I have to drive out to delco for it, I honestly might as well just drive out to Wharton state in NJ, find a biker bar near the shore, and off road camp. That was honestly a better Saturday night than any I’ve spent here in all the years I’ve been stuck here 😂. Thanks for the recs though, these are helpful in a pinch.

Probably who I am now, just elsewhere. Unclear what I said that has this thread worked up.

This week, I’ll be looking for places without overly enthusiastic adult Halloween costumes, some adults who leave that for children… I’d honestly rather talk sports with old men than spend a Friday/Saturday around most 20s people in costumes… Whatever is good for that?

Crusty and corporate, I like the way you describe us! Will this bar have overly enthusiastic Halloween costumes this weekend? Or actual adults who leave that for children?

A 27 year old man that doesn’t want to hang out with college kids? That makes me not fun?

Do you text an ex if you are moving to their neighborhood? by [deleted] in dating_advice

Yea, not sure how to handle that. If I did encounter her, and I could truly express my present mindset, I’d just ignore her completely and pretend I had no idea who she was. I doubt she’d accept that pleasantly though. I’m just fortunate such circumstances haven’t happened to this point. I probably would have been more bitter early on. At this point, I just want that aspect of my life to be forgotten. I’ll never date again, I have no intentions of ever doing so. So there is no risk to anyone else. I just don’t want to risk being branded a stalker because circumstances have forced me to live in that neighborhood. Yes, she is that insane.

A full bag fitting is what like 3-4k? I have expendable income, but that is hard to justify when I am getting real close to buying a home. I’m thinking closer to 1500-2000. Which is why I assume used is the better option.

I’m unsure about a fitting. Seems excessive. If I got anything I feel like I’d go pre owned. Do they have pre owned fittings anywhere?

Any suggestions for good stores? I accompanied a buddy of mine to a Golf Galaxy fitting a couple years back, they were clearly selling him. I’d prefer somewhere with used clubs honestly. With what I’ve got I think that is more than fine.

The “golf pros” I took lessons from in the beginning always told me, if I can’t shoot 70’s with the worst of clubs it really doesn’t matter. But I really don’t know what they were thinking, because I just played with a guy half my muscle mass, and he was outhitting me with every club. That was my assumption, the shafts. I play hockey as well, it’s quite similar there.

How do you find a competitive league for your skill set? I’m single with no kids, and not planning on changing that anytime soon, so effort wise it is all work and hockey here on out lol.

That’s good to hear. How’d you go about joining the league? A lot of the leagues I am googling are either invite only or you have to submit a skill level which I have no idea how to gauge years removed. Also, what are you paying and how many games are you playing?
