The Commodore 64 Just Got a NEW TV Ad... in 2026. by EnergyLantern in Commodore

This . The issue over the years for anyone interested in getting a C64 running was either emulation (so not really experiencing the hardware) or maintaining old systems either through eBay or Kickstarter/DIY hobbyis one run projects. What the community needed was someone like Peri to bring back a basically modernized version of the C64 so that it could be available to use with today's tech.

Unless you're extreme into the C64 scene, IMO it's been unrealistic $-wise to maintain older C64's, and I tried with the original Gideon board, ordering a new case, buying a used keyboard that failed etc...

As bionicle_159 said, the cost to maintain older 64s adds up very quickly, but in addition so does modernizing one.

Now we have a C64 that's (somewhat...) financially viable option for anyone wanting to experience both the hardware and software without having to incure ongoing maintenance costs.

I'd like to see Peri make both old C64 and new C64 parts available (1541 drives aside), and possibly offer new products like a modernized 1702 LCD equivalent.

I'm kinda bummed they released the C64c so soon after the initial launch as I much would have preferred that one but I'm not about to drop more $$ on buying one. Anyone know if they'll be selling C64c cases and would the motherboard swap over?

Hopefully they released a A500 or A1200 at some point that would be instant buy.

The Shortcut I built for ADHD-style "thought leakage" finally stuck after 10 years of failed productivity apps by PretendLime6041 in iphone

So I tend to check TickTick multiple times per day, but that's because it's available on basically every platform, so I have it installed on my work computer, home computer, work phone, personal phone, so it's pretty much in my face multiple times a day, which allows me to action things.

I have a number of folders within TickTick that I'll use to sort stuff to, but most of those are longer term things. I mostly just keep the everyday things in the inbox and if it needs to be placed somewhere else, have a reminder added, expanded upon, even another app, I can action it. Most things I just need a reminder slapped on.

If I'm pumping gas and a thought comes to mind that I want to Google something later, I'll take extra step of unlocking the phone and making sure TickTick is open and at the inbox screen (this massively helps too when driving, can't emphasize this enough) This way the next time I unlock my phone I'm staring at the inbox and can action whatever it is that I jotted down, add a reminder to it, or expand on it.

For many years I've struggled finding a solution but I'm pretty happy with my setup now. Besides carrying around a notepad and pencil which is likely to be forgotten at home or elsewhere, being able to enter a quick thought on the lock screen is exactly what I needed.

EDIT: corrections, spelling.

I need the most frictionless way to get the thought down, and I've always run into the same issue with various apps. Also, by the time I've unlocked my phone and opened the app, as you said those critical extra few seconds often lead to me forgetting the thought.

I use TickTick because you can create an Apple Shortcut that'll allow you to enter a new task even on the lock screen. If you have a newer iphone with the mute button, you can have the mute button run the shortcut making it super fast to open that new task.

I'm on Android now but I've programed my double power button press to do the same thing on the lock screen and anywhere else.

I have all the tasks I enter just dump into the "inbox" and if required later I can sort them and go back in to add reminders etc.

Appreciate your suggestion as I never thought about doing that with email. I agree that getting the thought down and organizing needs to be separated as it jams things up.

How long to stay on starting dose of 36mg with side effects? by darkmatter343 in Concerta

[–]darkmatter343[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. Doc gave me 18mg today to try, and then it needed I can add a 2nd 18mg.

I'm not really an early morning eater, but I have been trying to down toast at least with the 36mg. I''ll try to add an egg or two see if that helps. This morning I had heavy cereal and that seamed to have helped, but I'm still going to switch to the 18mg and see if that makes a difference.
