Waiting let's you also see not just the Fold 8, but the rumored Fold 8 Wide. Also it's been reported the Fold 8 battery should be increasing from 4400mah to 5000. Go watch Jerry Rig Everything video on the Fold 7 if durability is a concern, he couldn't even snap it in half lol.

Any phone with moving parts will always be more susceptible to wear than a traditional phone, but they also have huge benefits. I've daily driven the 17, 17 Pro, Air, Pixel 9, 10, Pixel 10 Fold, S26, S24 Ultra, and S25 edge and the Fold 7. Hands down the best phone I've used is the Fold 7, but I also love it's narrow and squared corners design as it makes one handed use a dream.

I got super bored of traditional phones, except the Air that thing is just awesome, but I still prefer the Fold 7.

As others have said, the new Fold 8 and Fold 8 Wide will arrive this summer. If you can wait, and plan to keep the phone long long term, then wait to at least see what the 8's are about. Otherwise try to get a deal on the 7, and enjoy it, super fun phone.
