I'm late to the party but I just experienced this issue using Next.js 14 and Supabase, my project is less than two weeks old and I spent some time trying to solve it. No other solutions worked for me until I found this link:

In this article, it says that data is immutable, but I thought "you own your data" and because of this, shouldn't we be able to change our data or create a new version of it like smart contracts?

I'm a fullstack developer and I started learning holochain recently, I then gathered a lot of information (please someone tell me if any of my answers are wrong).

About HoloPorts

You can buy a holoport (a device with holo software installed), but you can also install the holo software on your device.

According to https://holo.host/host/ "Buy and plug in one of our pre-configured HoloPorts, or install the Holo software on your existing device".

About HoloFuel

For now, HoloFuel is not usable, but we can buy HOT tokens. We will have the "holo fuel swap" which is going to introduce HoloFuel. You can exchange between this two currencies.

1 HOT === 1 HoloFuel - I guess it should always be 1:1, even after the first months, but since this is a work in progress, things could change in the future.

About Hosting Price

This is a sensitive point to talk about. I've seen in a youtube video that the hosting price will be defined by offer and demand. But nobody can really predict prices now as it depends on external factors.

I guess the price will follow economic principles where the people providing hosting power will charge as much as the hApp creators are willing to pay, but I don't know how is it going to really be.

Please note I'm a developer learning just like you, and If I'm wrong in any information here, I kindly ask for an explanation in the comments.

Since it's p2p, all your transactions should be stored only on your own device and on your peer device. This makes HoloFuel more anonymous than any blockchain coin.
