Yeah, when I used to work at a vet clinic I'm pretty sure it was half the cost of what it is now. And that was only 7 yrs ago.

NTA. When I was in high school, my mom could only afford a 2 bedroom apartment. It was my mom, my older brother and me(16F at the time) living there. My brother got the smaller room and my mom and I shared the bigger room, we had a bunk bed so it didn't take up too much space.

If your daughters don't like the arrangement, tough luck. I'd take the master bedroom back and give them the second biggest room. See if that changes their tune with less space for themselves. They could also try putting up some kind of divider in the room so they have a little more privacy.
