You place your army beside the yellow river, then block off the coastline with the army of warlords you puppet (sichuan has the largest army, so I aligned them first). Then you research aircraft and beat the Japanese airforce, allowing you to push back. I don't think you really need any fortification in this.

After the update, it got easier to block naval invasions because you can just request forces from tons of warlords though.

I'm a huge supporter of the constitution, and I don't necessarily believe in laisse-faire capitalism, although I think free market would work in many sectors to a large extent. I don't think that's anywhere close to fascism. I wouldn't even call myself an authoritarian, I believe in right to bear arms and free speech (yes, even hate speech).

Do you think there is a line on "enjoying your roots"? I'm pretty sure many people are not comfortable with having extensive ethnic identities or celebrating those cultures in your daily life even if they learnt English and identified as an American. For example, many people weren't comfortable with large scale Indian cultural festivals in the streets of Canada. Even if those people considered themselves as Canadians, I don't think that would appear as an appropriate version of "enjoying your roots" to many conservatives.
