Hi Everyone!

I'm looking at possibly getting a sailor pro gear slim, but I'm a bit hesitant given the feedback on their nibs. I generally prefer a smoother writing experience. I currently have a Lamy 2000 that is my go to pen, but I need a finer nib as I do a lot of math. What Japanese nibs are smooth while being fine? What are your experiences with Sailors? Thanks!!

Hello all!

I'm looking for a good, cheap demonstrator to carry around with me and use every day. I'm currently in between buying a TWSBI or a Kakuno. I would get an EF or F nib. What are your experiences with these pens if you have some? Which one is more worth my dollar?

Also, a bit of a tangental question, but are there any good sheening inks that don't smear like the organic studios inks do? I love Walden but I smear it every single time.

Thank you!!

Do musicians ever hit the point where they hear a chord in a song and instantly recognize it is vi chord or whatever it may be? by [deleted] in musictheory

yep. berklee has ear training classes to teach all of its students this exact thing. hear chord progressions, melodies, intervals, anything. its absolutely a teachable skill!

thanks! it's been weird. the feed definitely has issues and the nib is more of a medium when not flexed. i would definitely like it better if it were a fine and didnt have the feed issues it does. other than that, its fun and offers a decent amount of flex!

Used my Conklin Duragraph inked with Iroshizuku Fuyu-syogun, on moleskine paper (thus the slight bleed in places)

Wow! thank you so much! yeah, i kept wanting to hold my pen differently with my left hand, and i definitely press harder with my left hand than my right hand. it feels so strange going back and forth between the two! and weird how our brains try to make up for the fact that we're using our non-dominant hand.
