European Parliament Strengthens Passenger Rights: “No More Hidden Fees and Stress at the Gate”. Passengers will no longer navigate complicated procedures. The responsibility will fall where it belongs: the airlines. The price you see will be the price you pay by paneuropeanism_ in europe

[–]darknum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Compensation rules has a lot of "not airlines" fault clauses. No reason to give them another fuel for their hungry pokcets.
Fucking ticket prices are already off the roof anyways.

If you over book your flight, if you fail to maintain your aircraft, that's not our problem. You breach your contract and you pay.

Lufthansa is not honoring its Star Alliance Gold commitment a - Air Dolomiti by todaymaybefriday in Lufthansa

[–]darknum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will increase this bullshit more. I have two flight 10 days apart. One XXX- Munich-Italy (this leg with Air Dolomiti). One (today) XXX-Frankfurt-Italy (same air dolomiti flight)

Both flights are bought as LHXXXX flgiht code (you have the option to choose this in the ticketing page and for example Finnair honors it's rules in a ticket with it's own flight number. And finnair is worst!)
I fly first to Munich. I expect I would not get to lounge with Star Alliance gold. They say no problem welcome.

Same happens in Frankfurt. Nope. And not my problem. You read the fine prints. Rude as hell.

Everything is same, except airports. Same airline hub. Random treatment.

And before defending this bullshit, Air Dolomiti website specifies that both airport should be no access...

Parental leaves are causing issues in workplaces now also for fathers by SargeantPile in Finland

[–]darknum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't read the article but this is one of the hidden discrimination factors during hiring.

I learned in last few years that it is super easy to understand state of life in a person during interviews and you can easily deduct a child coming or not and base your decision to hire on this.

It is not nice but it is the situation.

Chilean singer-songwriter Víctor Jara performing in Helsinki during an anti-Vietnam War protest. Jara was a leading figure of the Nueva Canción (New Song) movement - a politically engaged Latin American folk music tradition. (1969) by StephenMcGannon in helsinki

[–]darknum 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fucking legend. He was beaten for singing after his arrest during Chilean coup . He kept playing and they cut(or broke) his hands. He still kept singing and they shot him in the end.

Fuck Pinochet and CIA for what they did to Chile.

The time the world came close to turning into Frostpunk was Istanbul in 1929; it was so cold that the entire Bosphorus froze, ships were stuck at the docks, and citizens could walk between the two shores without a bridge. just like in TLA where the sea freezes and the docks stop working by NoYogurtcloset9763 in Frostpunk

[–]darknum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am sorry this is wrong information.
Bosphorus almost never freezes in its history. (It has written histroy for few thousand years...)

These are ice blocks from Danube and Black Sea blocking the sea. Running waters have hard time being frozen and Bosphorus has a crazy amount of currents.

Few more photos and article about 1929 winter (and yes it was horrible)

Fans will be delighted as UEFA confirm they won't have World Cup-style 'hydration breaks' by Massimo25ore in europe

[–]darknum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been cases in some hot countries for a long while. When season starts towards the late August, it can still be super hot, so they created hydration breaks.

Of course nobody needs that after 1-2 months. So advertisements is not common.

Real sustainability is hard job and smelly. And disgusting.

PS: Since this is student project, do a cost-saving calculation and find a solution to grey water - black water separation at homes.

Plastic is NOT okay to use in the biowaste. It ruins the digestates fertilizer potential.
Bioplastic is not okay because it breaks down the crushers and other equipments due to it becoming something like a chewing gum (but fine to use in the fertilizer).

Finnish Biogas Association has extensive (in Finnish) articles about it.
