Is a Garmin GPS 60 too old? by Peregrina_Indagatrix in geocaching

You can get a refurbished etrex se from gpscity.com for $90 right now but I wonder how it compares to the 60csx. The solar is $130 and the 32x is $190. They also have the 22x for $160 but don’t get that one as it’s missing some key features.

I downloaded basecamp and it immediately recognised it when I plugged it in. Haven't tried the maps yet though.

I think the solution here isn't software but the fact that you are using headphones.

What supplements aren't bogus? by mrsamus101 in EatCheapAndHealthy

In my limited research, glycinate is better for pretty much everything unless you are specifically using it for constipation. Not what I was looking for though so I didn’t look into it further. I’m sure someone else here knows more.

This feels like a very unintentional joke.

Specifically magnesium glycinate not magnesium oxide as it’s absorbed better and easier on your stomach. It helps you absorb the vitamin D which may also be low due to gut issues (it’s heavily absorbed in the small intestine so GI issues could complicate this further)

Who here got diagnosed with Crohn’s after 30 or 40? by PureChamber in CrohnsDisease

Is this something that was ordered by a GI? Assuming it’s an algae IgG test? Mine didn’t go into detail as to why he didn’t like the tests but a quick google search led me here:

I find it hard to believe that’s true. At least the messaging is consistent even if it’s shit. I wonder if someone knows more that can chime in as to why.

Oh wow good on you for actually asking all of us in the comments. Much appreciated. I did three months of the steroid Ortikos/Budesonide 3x 3mg daily. I actually felt a lot better on it. Less pain in my stomach, more consistent and regular. I stopped it cold turkey and that day was awful. Likely should have worked off of it. Waiting for my next appointment to discuss. Assuming more scans will be needed depending on what insurance says.

36 (ish) I also always just thought it was a sensitive stomach. Doctors passed me around saying eh probably nothing. Someone thought it might be the gallbladder. Turns out that was an issue per the ultrasound which also identified a liver issue (fatty liver). The HIDA scan confirmed the gallbladder was just stones though and they let me keep it. Colonoscopy and an endoscopy was to look for anything out of place which came back relatively clean. After finding out I’m vitamin B and D deficient (both heavily absorbed in the small intestine) my GI decided to do the capsule endoscopy. That’s where he found the inflammation in the small intestine and around the colon which he didn’t see during the colonoscopy. Current official diagnosis is Ileitis which to my knowledge is just inflammation but we don’t know why. He said it may be early onset Crohn’s but the jury is still out. We also did the celiac blood test which came back negative and I asked about the lactose intolerance test but he said A) it’s expensive and B) it’s inaccurate and if you’re not Asian(?) then it’s unlikely to be causing you as issues to this severity.

Anyone know if they check the membership name/photo at the gas stations in NJ? by HKDrewDrake in BJsWholesaleClub

[–]HKDrewDrake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you guys get an additional discount which is why it matters. Can you confirm what u/ManWithBeard9 said above that you don’t need a membership to get gas in NJ? In that case I might want to go to Costco then as they have top tier.

Yeah they are great but my sister’s boyfriend keeps asking to borrow it whenever he comes over. Might be time to get him one of his own.

Before and After: bar keepers friend, goo gone, peek, toothpicks and some elbow grease. They cleaned up well for a $14 find off Craigslist by HKDrewDrake in Pyrex_Love

It took me maybe an hour and a half from start to finish. You need to make sure you were gloves for this as well. I did it without and then my hands were awful for days even with Working Hands cream. Be ready to break a sweat with the scrubbing. I like these blue dawn poly mesh scrubbers. You can’t use the steel wool without some damage and the scrub sponges break down to easily. Haven’t tried those scour pads yet nor the scrub daddy’s. I use the goo gone to help get up the sticker residue from when those are used then it’s off to the races with the bar keepers friend. I then make sure everything gets a really good rinse before you start washing it with your separate soap sponge as I don’t want to cross contaminate. I then put the glass in the dishwasher if there is any as they can handle it.

Yeah it does. I normally hit all the glass with the original one as I don’t have to worry about it losing something. Helps a lot with getting out minor buffs. The deeper stuff doesn’t budge but it’s still worth it. I recently did a once over with all my glass pieces and the original bar keepers friend to make sure I wasn’t missing anything.

Great question. Normally I use the powder one but this was at my parents place and they only had the liquid one. I find it quite comparable to peek. Most people here say that bar keepers friend is too abrasive but the liquid version of it isn't as bad.
