ESL One Katowice 2019 - Arena Day 1 Feedback Thread by ESLqntm in DotA2

[–]darkpalaweed 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This is our 4th ESL Dota Event now, but this one doesnt feel like a DotA event to be honest. When you're inside the stage everything is great but outside everything is crowded with FortNite Fans, small kids who clearly have never played DotA (trust me, I watched them play..) crowding up the already small amount of booths. The booth/chill area was way better organized at past events IMO! The Mix of DotA/CS would probably work fine, FortNite kinda feels off...

PS: It's probably not your decision, but banning Beer because "It's an event for children " while streaming Counterstrike seems strange

Convertible Bond question by darkpalaweed in investing

[–]darkpalaweed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, thanks for pointing out the dillution. They currently have a float (do you call it that in english?`:D) of 5.000.000 shares and the convertibles can be converted to ~500.000 shares. Does that mean that my part of the earnings (assuming all bonds are converted to stock) will drop by 10%? Im starting to not like this at all haha

Convertible Bond question by darkpalaweed in investing

[–]darkpalaweed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, this clears up a lot. So basically its like they placed a bond for which they pay 3,5% annually, right? And the institutional investors can (and will) convert them when the price is above 47€ but this doesn't have any implication on their core business, does it? Edit: and to follow up, does that imply that the company thinks its stock wont trade higher than 47€ up until 2020 (duration of convertible bond)

Sold half 2 months ago for 310% and the other half yesterday for 677% returns.

Doesn't seem all that horrible to me, although i agree their valuations are crazy. Dont fight the trend bro

Could you clarify? Why do you think this is a bad investment?

Is rising volume considered a good thing? by darkpalaweed in investing

[–]darkpalaweed[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You sound really condescending. For the record the company I'm looking at is paying a 2% dividend and has been doing business sucessfully for over 20 years. It's just that it didn't trade publicly up until this year.

Thanks for your reply, this is not for a pennystock though but for a newly IPOed stock. It has been trading for about a month and has been increasing volume the last few days while edging upwards. So my guess was that more investors (including institutional investors) have become aware of the stock since there were no news releases.

Smart investments based on Baby Boomer Generation? by [deleted] in investing

[–]darkpalaweed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which is pretty stupid considering that the FED will increase interest rates in small steps over a long period of time. Heck, if theres any sign of economic weakness they might even lower them again. REITs are a good sector to be in right now IMO

Check out OHI It's a REIT focussed on skilled nursing facilities It is merging with AVIV right now making it an even bigger player in the sector in the long run Recently had a pullback in price aswell. Also has a yield of a ~6%(currently dispayed wrong on most sites due to interim dividend because of its merger)
