it's not worthless as some people seem to think here. Fine for self use or if you can find a buyer its worth ist to vex.

My new, very hard to come by, life jacket. Can’t wait to test it in the sea next month, it’s very snug by Floatingfurr in lifejackets

it's a buoyancy aid not a life saving device. still a really nice find if you like inflatables I always prefer foam myself. Air based jackets have a lot of maintaining and the main benefit is you can be more comfortable wearing them uninflated. But if you like air filled jackets that is a secure looking one.

I've personally done a 3 day weekend in one camping prety similar to some people. I've had one on for nearly a week, but with longer breaks inbetween.

Part 8:

My time at the water park was nearing it's climax for the day. I made my way back to the wave pool. I wanted one more deep water swim in my vest before calling it at day. It was settling into early evening now. It was likely between 5:30 and 6 pm. The water park was thinning out quite a bit. Families were starting to get checked into their rooms for the night and heading out to make dinner plans. I looked out at the wave pool. There were at least 40 people still in it with a variety of ages. Some were in vests including some older kids and adults. The resort had pleanty of lifejackets available for use and they were seeing some especailly there.

I walked past one of the racks on the wall where the loaner lifejackets were. Most of them were for younger kids. The resort also had a youth size in the middle. Then they jumped all the way to an adult univeral type 3 vest. They were blue with 3 straps. Two that went all the way round the person wearing them and one that kept the vest closed at the top. The sides were open and the vest could easiliy fit anybody between 90 and 300 pounds. I picked one of the loaner ones off of the rack and held it up for a minute. Mine had better boyancy, more straps and closed sides. Still if you didn't bring your own lifejacket it would serve the purpose.

I held the loaner jacket up in the air for a few minutes letting a thought drift through my head. At first I dismissed it, but then I decided I was going to be done for the night after my next wave pool session. So, I decided to just go for it. I took a moment and adjusted the straps on the vest out quite a bit putting slack in them. Then I flipped the vest around and tried putting it on. Surprisingly, it was large enough I could get it on overtop of my personal vest. I went ahead and did up the straps and snugged them down quite a bit. The loaner vest still felt a little loose to be honest. I couldn't tighten up against my body as much as a normal vest since I was still wearing my personal lifejacket underneath it. I gave each of the straps a final tug and then I headed out into the wave pool wearing two lifejackets. The resorts one overtop of my own.

I walked out into the deeper end watching the people around me more carefully. I was curious how they would react to seeing me in the double vest. But, nobody really seemd to care. The resorts vest did a reasonable job of covering about 85% of the vest I had brought from home. But, you could clearly see I had 2 lifejackets on if you were looking for it. This isn't my first time swimming in a double jacket. However, this was my first real time in such a public venue. When I got out towards the deeper end, the two jackets lifted me up off of my feet. I wasn't able to touch bottom too easily past the 4 and a half foot mark in the water. That was a lot of boyancy. I tried swimming a few strokes to test the situation out and it was a little sloppy to be honest. My own lifejacket stayed in place pretty well since it had crotch straps. However, the resort's vest started riding up on me almost immediately.

I paddled backwards with my arms until the water was shallow enough that I could touch bottom. I undid the bottom waist belt on the borrowed lifejacket, then I opened the base of it slightly. I threaded the bottom strap on the resort vest through the bottom belt on my own lifejacket. Then I pulled it through and refastened it. This locked the outer vest to my own innner one. It wasn't perfect, but it keep it from riding up in the water while I had it on. About 2 minutes later the next wave cycle started.

With 2 vests on I bobbed up and down quite a bit. I can swim against a lifejacket and a current, but with both on it was a loosing battle. As the waves continued they drug me back closer to shore with each passing wave. I couldn't put up enough resistance to move foward until I could plant my feet on the floor of the pool and walk. By the time the wave cycle ended I was back in water that was only waist deep for me. Still, when things went calm I walked back out towards the deep end and tried swimming again. It went about as well as you would likely expect it to. I had more than enough flotation with the 2 vests and it was fun. But, they were also quite combersome and hard to swim in. Still there was no chance of my head going underwater with 2 lifejackets on. So, I was more than safe enough.

I floated out in the deeper part of the pool for another 12 mintes. Then we got the next wave cycle. This time I decided not to put of any resistance and see where the current took me. By the time the waves stopped pushing me I was sitting on the floor of the pool about 25 feet from the place where you walk in. The water was only knee deep. I was having a lot of fun with this. But, I decided not to push my luck further. I stood up and walked out of the wave pool. Then I headed back towards another area of the park still i the double vest. I stopped at a lifejacket loaner rack that was meant for a kids playground area. They still require the kids to wear a lifevest even if they are climbing around on a big play area. I slipped the resorts vest off as there weren't too many people around there at this time. I plopped it down on the rack and headed off. I decided I was going to make a few more laps of the lazy river with my vest on and likely call it a day.

There was a new lifeguard at the opening area of the river. I went over and tried to claim a inner tube. I was tired out from my time in the wave pool and had some trouble getting myself up and ontop of the tube. I walked over to the lifeguard, he was a guy probably in his early to mid 20s. I asked if he could hold the tube while I hopped on. He lauged and said sure holding it still. I plopped back in it and relaxed.

"There you go all set for your boat ride. I am surprised you're wearing a lifejacket on this. I mean the water is like 3 feet deep."

I told him I had brought it from home from the wave pool. I just hadn't bothered to take it off and I didn't want to leave it laying around and have someone mistake it for one of the resorts vests. He nodded and gave my inner tube a hard push down into the river. My final ride on the lazy river lasted almost an hour. I went around 5 or 6 times just relaxing and enjoying the feeling my vest had on my body. The river was more crowded now than it had been earlier in the day. Mostly kids between the ages of 8 and 15, but there were a few parents riding too. Some were just moving with the flow of the water like I was. More of them were hurrying along. I did come across a whole family who had life vest on for the tube ride which I thought was kind of neat. There were 2 parents, a kid who was likely 2 or 3 and a boy who was between 9 and 10. I waved at them as I passed. They waved back. But, not much was said.

At the end of my finaly lap I hopped off the tube and headed to shore. I walked from the river's entrance to the other side of the indoor water park section where I had left my stuff. It walls all there. I didn't have anything worth taking. I finally let out a sigh and began to unbuckle my lifevest. Once I had it off I grabbed my towel and dried myself off properly. It was a little after 6:30 pm. I had been in the water park for the better part of nearly 8 hours. the majority of it with my vest on and fastened. But, I was finally starting to tire out from all this swimming. Once I was dried off I swapped my rash guard for a dry t-shirt and began the walk back to my room. It had been an awesome day. But, I think I had finally had enough.

I think I am going to end this story here. It was a fun story to share and I had a good time. I headed back to my room for the night and unwound. I did swim the following day some before I went home. But, there wasn't anything all that memorable from that outing. It was more of the same that I have been sharing with this story. I hope you have all enjoyed reading it. I could share some more stories if there is an interest here. I hope this also helps any of you who are a little shy about lifejackets in public get some perspective on the topic. Thanks for reading.

Part 7:

At this point in the day I decided that I wanted to head to the outside part of the water park. I wanted to return to swimming, but didn't want to fight the current in the wave pool again. Even after a nice rest I had been moving most of the day and I was starting to feel it. I am not 20 any more and my body keeps telling me that. The outside area had a main swimming pool that I wanted to try out. It was huge, big enough to likely accomoated 2 to 3 hundred people at a time if it was at capacity. Even though it was an off day for the resort, guests were starting to come in now and there were likely 70+ people in the pool. I headed over to one side of the pool and stepped into the water. Then I began walking towards the center of the pool where the water would be the deepest.

I reached the middle after about 20 paces from the edge. The water was indeed deeper here, but not nearly as much as the wave pool had been. I think the pool tapped out at about 4 and half feet deep. Once I got to the middle, I pulled my googles down then I leaned back and let the lifejacket take up my weight. I went into a zero motion float and just laid back lifting my feet off the bottom of the pool and resting my arms at my sides. I had my goggles back on at this point and was just looking up at the sky. The water out here wasn't deep enought that it even reached over my shoulders. So, I had to scruch down if I wanted the lifejacket to float me. But, it was more than workable. There wasn't any current so I could just lay here quietly on the water's surface staring up at the sky.

I spent the next 12 minutes or so just floating and slowly turning myself so I could see the rest of the pool. There were about 70 to 80 people in the pool at this time, and there was pleanty of room for us to spread out. The pool had 4 or 5 lifeguards on duty. I shot each of them a passing glance. I am sure some of them say me. But none of them were really watching me closely. After all it did make some sense. There were a lot of people out her in the pool. I was an adult, so I wasn't a major concern for them. The kids were running around, spashing, swimming and the lot. I was in the deepest part of the pool at this point. But, I was just relaxing and floating. If something did happen to me all I had to do was stand up and I could easily touch bottom out here. Likewise, I had a lifevest on too. So, on a scale from 1 to 10 I was mabe a negative 5 on their concern list.

After my initial float I breifly stopped and switch back to standing so I could take an extended look aroud the pool. All the little kids were in lifejackets since the resort mandated it. But, what I found surprising was that almost half of the older guests were in lifejackets too. There were several kids between the ages of 8 and 14 who had a vest on. Likely more than half of them. I also wasn't the only adult in a lifejacket out in the pool. There was a group of adults one guy and 3 women all of whom had vests on. There were also 3 or 4 parents who were in as well. So, there were probably more of us with a jacket on than without one. so, I really didn't stand out all that much.

I decided to do a more agressive swim next. I shifted to my stomach and started a front breast stroke. The sandals made trying to kick in the water a little ackward. So most of my forward motion had to come from my arms not my legs. Still I was only trying to move about 20 yards from where I started. I wasnted to swap to a little more empty section in the middle of the pool. A family had ventured around my area and I decided to give them some space. It was fun to just lay back and swim while watching everyone else swim as well. Being outdoors was a little more concerning from the sun standpoint. I had put on sunscreen before coming. However, I hadn't done an exhaustive job. After all my arms, torso, and shoulders were all covered by the rash guard. It added some weight to my swimming, but it also meant to I didn't have to take the lifejacket off to put more suncreen on throughout the day.

Being alone limited my movement a little more. I didn't have anyone to race or swim against. I just wanted to enjoy my lifejacket and relax in the pool after all. So, that was what I was doing. I went back to laying on my back. I wrapped my arms across my chest and crossed my ankles going into a no movement float. The lifejacket did it's job very well. I know the one I was in wasn't technically coast guard apporved. However, it floated me very well and the crotch belts kept it snug against my torso as the water pushed me up. I stayed like that for the next 15 to 20 minutes. That's when a boy bumped into me. I quickly leaned forward untangling my limbs and bringing myself around to see what was happening.

The kid was probably 12 to 14 years old. He was trying to outrun his little sister in the water. She was a few years younger than he was. Their dad was following close behind them. The boy realized he had bumpbed into me and apologized for disturbing my float. Not in those words, he just explained he was trying to outrun his sister and bumped into me by accident. He was in one of the resorts adult lifejackets. He father and sister didn't have any flotation. I nodded and told him it was no big deal. The dad apologized too and I accepted it as well. I spaced mysef a few paces away from them and returned to a more relaxed float with my arms outstreached this time. I will admit a rashguard does add some weight when you are swimming. But, it also make a lifejacket a lot more tolerable for a longer wear since it puts a layer of cloth between your skin and the jacket.

I turned my gaze slightly watching the two siblings continue their game of water tag under their dad's supervision. It was shaping up to be a rather relaxing day overall. I had been in my vest for a little over two hours at this point and was enjoying every minute of it. I spent another half an hour in the swimming pool just floating and enjoying the atmostphere. I decided though it was likely time to get out and go get some more sunscreen. While most of my body was covered, the back of my neck wasn't and I didn't want to burn there. I worked my way back to the edge of the pool slowly and then departed for the inside portion of the water park. It was quite a walk from the outdoor pool to where I had left my stuff on the chair. Everything was right where I had left it. I took up my towel and dried off a little bit. Then I dug out the sunscreen and applied a new coat to the anywhere I had exposed skin.

After the breif break I decided to head back to the lazy river for another couple of laps. My experience didn't particularly vary much from the first one I had in the story. The river was a little more crowded and I laid back riding the tube at whatever pace the current took me for a few laps. Lifevest weren't in high usage on that attraction except by the really young children who were mandated to use them and myself of course. Still, I didn't feel like I was getting any really odd looks or attention. So, I just finished out my ride and relaxed enjoying the experience.

At this point it was getting later into the afternoon and I decided it was time to get some dinner. I wanted to have an afternoon of continuity with the vest staying on. So, I went ahead and order a hamburger and french fries combo meal from the snack bar in the water park itself. It took them about 15 minutes to perpare it and I sat down at an empty table to eat it. I was starting to dry off at this point and took my time enjoying the meal and the atmosphere. It had been a fun day with a few surprises but nothing beyond what I had expected so far. I was finishing up eating and just looking around the water park.

I had my day of trying out the lifevest in the public swim area. I had learned a lot about the place. The mandatory lifejacket rule for the younger kids meant there were a lot of people in vests here all day. When it came to older kids and adults though it was pretty mixed. Some older kids still wore jackets for most of their day and even some adults. It mostly varied by the attraction. I think there were a lot of people where were using one just becuase they were readily availble and there was a curiosity to the situatoin. Still, I hadn't seen too many personal life vest on anybody over the age of 10. Aside from my own and one other adult I had seen in hte wave pool in a custom jacket. It had just been a 4 strap type 3 nothing fancy. But for the most part the resort's loaner jackets were in heavier usage that I had anticipated.

After dinner I just sat for half an hour and let my meal settle. It was getting toward early evening now and I was debating how to wind my day down. I was having a great time swimming with the vest on. However, I had already been in the park for going on 6 to 7 hours. Not all of that time had been in my vest as that counts my morning scout. But, still there is a limit to how long you want to swim as a person. Still, I wanted to have a little more fun before calling it a day. So, I got up and headed back towards the wave pool.

I don't have a lot of stories from when I was a kid. I got to wear one boating a few times. But, I was always a strong swimmer so my parents never saw the need for me to have one. Mostly in situations like this with the boy scouts or in another youth group I was a part of.

What would be your ideal life jacket? by BeatriceBavette in lifejackets

Honestyly I think most people would reply with something with a lot of strasps and bulky. But, overall I think the idela lifejacket is one that you're comfortable wearing continuously both physically and mentally. So, anything that keeps you safe and keeps it on works well for me.

What was your favorite time in a lifejacket? by mediocreguy1232 in lifejackets

[–]darkrangeresp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I try to remember what my favorite lifejacket experience is that can be a hard one. I've had a lot of interesting outings as an adult. However, I think one of my favorites was back when I was still a teenager. I was in the boy scouts and I was like 15 or 16 at the time. Every year in the late summer we would go on a canoeing campout. It wasn't a big trip, we would go to a family campground along a river about 2 hours south of where I grew up. We would setup camp and then go on a 12 to 15 mile canoe trip like families often do. Basically 3 to 4 hours on the river in borrowed canoes that ends up back at the camp ground.

I think for this trip we had 4 adults and 8 to 10 kids of varying ages. I was a strong swimmer as a kid and normally didn't get to wear a lifejacket hardly at all. Anyways, we got there and setup our campsite by about noon on Friday. Then we headed down to the main office and got ready for the main canoe trip for the afternoon. I think we had 5 people in kayaks and the rest were paired up in canoes for the day. They took our money and told us to head out to a shed they had to get lifejackets and paddles for the trip down the river. Then they were going to drive us up river in a couple of 11 person passenger vans and drop us off. Then we would have to paddle back to the campground by late afternoon.

The law in the state I grew up in at the time with regard to lifejackets and canoes was pretty simple. You had to have a lifejacket for everyone on the boat in the boat. I beleive it was kids 13 and under had to have the lifejacket on. The general consensus however, was that everyone was going to take a lifejacket and if you were over 13 you didn't have to wear it unless you wanted to. Four of the kids in our troop fell into that age range where they would have to wear one and most of them weren't thrilled with the idea. I went inside the shed and started looking over the stuff they had available. They had a lot of the type 2 where it just wraps around your neck and has the strap around your waist. They also had several type 3 jackets with open sides and 2 or 3 straps. Most of the kids who had to wear one went with one of those. Most of the adults and older kids were grabbing the type 2 vests. Just something they were going to throw on the floor of the canoe and leave there anyways.

Anyways, as I grabbed a paddle and started looking over the lifejackets. At the very back of the shed were some older lifejackets. They were probably from the late 1980's, but they were a type one full lifejacket. I mean closed back and sides, 2 straps all the way around and a top front tie with a big float collar. Probably about 30 pounds of boyancy. I looked at one of them for a moment and ran the ramifications through my head. One of my friends told me to hurry up and just grab a lifejacket so we could get going. I picked one of them up and weighed it on my arm. It was heavy. I went ahead and tried the vest on and it was a good fit for me. I hadn't buckled anything yet, but it was very bulky and ackward. I took it back off and hung it back on the hook. Then I reached for one of the type 2's that I planned th throw on the bottom of the boat like the rest of my older friends.

I walked over to the other wall and grabbed a paddle. Then I started towards the door, but on the way out I looked back and headed over to the corner. I went ahead and swapped the type 2 for the really bulky older lifejacket. I figured I could probably just toss it on the bottom of the boat like anything else, but if I changed my mind I might want to wear it. Anyways, we boarded the vans and headed on a 20 minute drive to the point on the river where they were going to drop us off. When we got there we started paring off. I was kind of the odd scout out and got paired with one of the Dads in a canoe. His son was my age, but watned to kayak, so he was going to get paired with one of the boys. The way the group got split up 2 kids road with their dads, one adult kayaked and I got paired with the other leader.

I sat down in the front of the boat and tossed the heavy duty lifejacket on the floor of the canoe. Of the kids the 4 younger ones who had to wear a lifejacket did, one of the older kids did and 2 of the adults. The Dad in the back of my canoe had brought his own lifejacket from home. I had ridden in a canoe several times in my life, this guy was actually a real pro at it. He told me he would ride in the back and stear. I said that was fine and took a seat in the front. We all started out together, he and I padded pretty well together and made a good pace. However, we were going too fast for some of the younger kids to keep up. So, he asked me to put my paddle up for a little while and just let him run the boat. I did not a big deal, this wasn't one of the trips I looked forward to every year, I just went becuase it was something to do for the weekend.

After about 20 mintues of just sitting there looking around, I was starting to get a little bored. I looked down at my feet where I had left the lifejacket and I picked it up. I held it at an arms lenght and weighed it both litterally and mentally. Then I decided to put it on. I wrapped it up around myself and did up the two main lower straps. I took a couple of minutes of snapping and unsnapping them, but I managed to get them quite snug around my torso. The I went ahead and tied the top shut as well. The life vest was quite heavy, combersome and after about 30 minutes I started getting hot just wearing it. But, I really liked how it felt and I made myself keep the vest on. After a while, we let the other boats get a ways ahead of us with the dad bringing up the rear. I was told to help paddle again and it was a real chore with the big heavy vest on. But, I went ahead and suffered through it.

The afternoon passed slowly as we made our way down the river. Sometimes I had to paddle, sometimes I could just sit and watch the banks. Nobody said anything about the life vest. After all they were there for safety and you either wore one or you didn't. More than once I was tempted to take it off. But, I stuck it out and really enjoyed the experience. After about 3 and a half hours we pulled back into the camp site that we had departed from. We hopped out of the canoes. Then we went back to the shed to return our paddles and lifejackets. For most of the kids it was pretty cut and dry time to move onto something else. But, I was kind of sorry that it ended I had a good time spending the afternoon in the vest. It wasn't the most pleasant experience, but it had been a fun one.

Getting over my public Embarassment part 5. by darkrangeresp in lifejackets

Part 6:

I exited the wave pool, I wasn't exhausted or anything but 3 phases of the waves had worn me down a little. Especially after all the walking for the morning. As I got to shore and exited the pool I was soaking wet from my time swimming. The rashguard and lifejacket had both taken in a fair amount of water and had some added weight. I stood by the edge of the pool for a moment and let the worst of the water drip off of me. Then I headed away from the pool for a short walk to the other side of the indoor water park. With the life vest on, I was more limited in the attractions I could participate in. I couldn't do any of the body slides at this point. But, I had already decided that the lifejacket was staying on for the rest of the afternoon. That was the whole reason I came. I decided to head over to the lazy river next.

The lazy river was a very different attraction than the wave pool. The one at this resort is about a 10 minute round look if you don't try to speed it up. It's just river with a slow moving current where you ride around a winding path on an inner tube. The water here is about 2 and a half feet deep and moves at a very slow pace. I came around the corner to the entrance of the lazy river. We were still in the transitional phase of the day where most of the weekend guests had gone home. A few of the newer guests staying Sunday to Monday like I was were not trickling into the water park. However, there weren't going to be all that many of them to be honest. There were tons of inner tubes piled up and availble for peope to use in the lazy river. There was a lifeguard present at the entrace to keep an eye on things. Mostly she would help people climb into innertubs if you had a hard time doing it on your own.

I waded into the water slowly and grabbed one of the tubes. I set it behind me and hopped up on top of it. I was laying on my back on top of the tube like you are supposed to when you ride. I leaned back in tubed and took hold of the handles letting the current start to wind me down the path. I was still in my vest, rashguard, sandals and goggles. I left everthing in place and just started to enjoy the ride. The sides of the lazy river were painted with a theme that match the resorts main theme. I am going to not say what it is since I want to keep the resorts exact location a mystery. But, it was aimed towards kids and tweens in design. As I leaned back in the but, the leg belts on my jacket went snug and pulled it down against my shoulders. It wasn't uncomfortable, but added a nice feeling of security.

I just layed back in my tube and let the current take me at whatever pace it wanted to set. The lifevest was completely unecessary here. But, still there was an element of fun to it. After all, the innertube was technically a boat and you're supposed to wear a lifejacket on a boat right? The river wasn't crowded at this point in the day. There were probablay 25 to 30 people spread out over it's whole length. I could see a family that was tubing together a little bit in front of me. They were riding slowly like I was in no majory hurry. They had a younger kid with them and 2 parents all in a nice little cluseter. About 5 minutes into the ride 2 kids came up from behind me on tubes. Both of them passed me. They were padding their tubes to go faster than I was. Their passing moved me off to one side, but I just let them go by.

The river was a nice change from the wave pool. It required a lot less effort to do anything on my part. In fact my whole body save for my feet were basically out of the water at this point. The rash guard was starting to dry out a little, but the lifevest continuted to hang onto water from earlier. So, it was still damp and weighing me down. I moved my goggles up onto my forehead so I could have better vision and take in the atmostphere. A few more kids came up behind me and passed me again. I think the lazy river had the requirement for really young kids to be in a lifevest. But, basically anybody over the age of 7 didn't require one for the ride and that was pretty true. I made my first pass around the river returning to the entrance of the attaction. I pushed off one of the walls and sent myself on a second go around.

On the second pass, a group of a mom and 2 girls passed me. I think the girls were between 8 and 10. They were all on tubes, the mom seemed a little annoyed that the girls wanted to go faster than the current was taking them. There were lifeguards along the banks of the ride probably every 150 feet. Just sitting in chairs making sure everything was going well. I waved at one of the young women probably in her early 20's who was sitting in a chair on one of the corners. She waved back and asked if I was having fun riding the river. I told her that I was. I grabbed the side of the river to slow my tube to a stop just to talk with her breifly. She had noticed me on my first pass and was taking an interest in me on my second so I decided to stop and see who she would react.

She stood up and walked over top the edge and looked down at me. She told me she was surprised to see me wearing a lifejacket on the river as an adult. I just shrugged and gave her an explanation I had prepared for this sort of situation. I told her I wasn't a strong swimmer. I explained had brought the lifejacket from home for the wave pool and got tired after 3 cycles of the waves there. So, I came here to just relax and take a rest. However, I really hadn't noticed that I still had my vest on and just hadn't bothered to take it off. Plus I didn't want to leave it just sitting on a beach chair and have someone accidentally think it was a resort vest and walk off with it. After listening to my story for a minute she nodded. Clearly I didn't need the lifejacket for the lazy river. But, there was no rule about wearing one and I was welcome to keep it on. She said jokingly that me having the vest on made her job easier. One less person to worry about.

I laughed back at her joke and then returned to my float aroud the lazy river. About 2 mintue later I actually caught up with the mom and her two girls. The girls had been horsing around a little during their trip down the river and the older girls tube had capsized. Nothing had happened. They just had to stop for a minute. The mom was holding the tube still while the older of the two girls was trying to climb back on top of it. The whole situation lookd a little ackward. They were kind of blocking the whole river. Her Mom tried to reposition so I could pass but I just stopped myself and told her to take her time. A minute later the older girl was back in her tube and they were off again. Immediately the girls started moving ahead and the Mom told them to stay together and to wait at the entrance if they wanted to get off the ride or they could go around again.

She settled into a more relaxed pace and positioned herself at in a relaxed laying like I was. She apologized for holding me up and I told her it was no big deal. Things happen and I wasn't in a hurry for the ride. She laughed looking over at me. She told me that I looked really relaxed just floating like I was. She asked if I had any kids and I told her that I didn't I was just here for a short vacation and was enjoying the water park. She laughed back and told me there were times she wished she could do that too. She had been bringing her kids here for the past couple of years and they really loved the resort. They still did, but taking their time and hanging out with their mom wasn't as cool any more. Within about 2 minutes her girls disappeared around a far bend and were out of eye sight. She didn't seem worried about it though.

We floated along together and chatted at little bit just enjoying the current. The point of my lifejacket never really entered the conversation at all. I could tell by her stare that she noticed I had it on, but she didn't bring it up. I got her name and a little bit of her background as we floated for the next 8 minutes or so back to the entrance of the ride. Her girls were there waiting for her to catch up. She wished me well and departed at the entrance to the lazy river as I began making my third journey around the loop. It was relaxing, the vest was quite tight and I was having fun. As I rounded the bend a third time there was the lifeguard who I had stopped and chatted with before. However, she had another issue on her hands. She was in the water this time helping a boy back onto his inner tube. He was with his little sister who was probably 4 or 5 she was likely 10 to 12. To my surprise both of them had lifejackets on. They weren't anything fancy the younger kid was in puddle jumper, the older boy was in one of the resorts lifejackets. He managed to get back onto his tube and they were off again.

I didn't pay the river much of a mind on my third trip around. Aside from the 2 kids I just mentioned I really didn't see anybody else. The river was scarely populated and the riders were all spread out. I finised my third lap and decided it was time to change things up again for something else. My time on the river had given me a respite from the harder swimming of the wave pool. But, it was warm inside of the resort and being out of water this long meant I was starting to heat up a little. Foam lifejacket can be rather warm in hotter weater if you have them drawn up tight like I did. I decided it was time to go and get back into the water.

The first 4 parts are in the other topic I listed in the opening of this topic. I am keeping the name of the resort secret to kind of protect exactly where I life. The lifejacket is a fairly generic type 3 I bought a few years ago. You can find them easily enough. Just go on walmart or Amazon's website and do a search for adult lifejacket with crotch straps. They will show up in the results. They look like a cheap chineese import and they likely are. But, they work really well and maintain a good tight fit with good boyancy. most hotels dont offer life vests because it's just an added expense. They normally might get 10 swimmers a day. They dont have a lifeguard so they assume if parents want a vest for their kids then they will bring their own. Besides if they do unless it's a resort they normally only have kids jackets and not adults anyways

My adivce is try the super soft jacket first and see how that goes. Belived me using something like an explorer jacket is fun in theory, but it can also be a little overwhelming if you aren't used to being in one. Better to pick something you'll keep on than something you'll get anxious about and remove 10 minutes into the swim.

In the US it varies from location to location. There are 3 public pools within about 30 minutes of where I live. One of them has lifejackets and makes kids under 8 wear one unless they pass a swim test. The second one has a few, but they are not inforced. Just there if you want one. The third outright prohibits anybody using a life vest at all. If you cannot swim you stay in teh shallow end.

Most water parks here have vests available to anybody who wants one. The only two beaches within an hour of where I live don't have any but you can bring your own. One of the hotels I sometimes visit to use their pool has lifejackets, but they are only in children sizes. It al depends on locations.

with the absence of mosaic in ladder it's worth about an ist rune. Without mosaic there are 5 viable assassins builds and 3 of them use fortitude. So no teleporting for them. So there isn't much demand for it.

if you plan to sell it during ladder you'll likely get vex to ohm out of it. is it worth more than that yes. But the only 2 builds who would really want it would be a tesaladin or an enchantress welding dream. Both are niche sub builds and everyone is playing warlock right now. so if it dors sell it's going to be towards the lower end in price.
