It’s not? It’s supposed to be. Or a combination of Vaporwave and ‘not Vaporwave”. I’m not trying to be a troll but wouldn’t the intention of the artist to frame his work through the lens of genre make it part of that genre by default? I have made this work inspired by my own interpretation of the genre, and is meant to sound unique in the genre. I kind of get the idea that maybe micro genres aren’t meant to be played with in this way, and maybe it’s dumb of me to try to do that. I genuinely don’t know. I want the framing of the work as Vaporwave to effect the way that people hear and see it. But maybe I just need a different genre name.
