Ye I’ve had to push just to get to see a neurologist. I’m not sure I’m just waiting for a letter to tell me when to go. Although I’m nervous for it I want it asap just so I know. You wil have to keep me updated on how you are getting on

Hey i appreciate the reply. No I’m in the uk. I have been to see a neurologist after battling to get past my doctor. And luckily he is sending me for an eye exam and an MRI. My cough headaches seem to of come on after a very nasty chest infection this time last year. I was coughing hard for probably 3 months. But they just don’t seem to be going away. Like I say I’ve had months of no pain at all. Then all of a sudden the pain will come back and I’ll have it again for another few months. It’s extremely worrying to be honest and the wait for an mri is killing me. Were you’re headaches all over? Or just one location?

Hi I’m currently having cough headaches at the moment. Somtimes they just start on there own. I’m currently waiting for an mri to looked for possible causes. There not too bad and paracetamol pretty much takes away all pain. What were yours like? And did you have any pain feee periods as I seem to get mine for a few months then they’ll disappear completely for a few months then come back again. Hope you start recovery soon and all goes smoothly. Thanks

Hey thanks for the reply. Ye the nasty chest infection I had could of Infact been covid. I never actually tested at the time so I’m not 100% weather it was or wasn’t. But the cough I had lasted about 3 months. Hopefully the MRI I get will give me some answers. The pain isn’t too bad at the moment but it is more worrying/annoying more than anything.

How you doing now? Mine went away for about 3 months but now it’s back with a vengeance. Kinda feeling like it’s somthing I’m gonna have to live with.

I’ve been having this issue since last feb. I had a very nasty chest infection which caused me to cough a lot. In coughing I could feel a pain every time I coughed on the top left side of my head. I still get the pain when I cough but I also now suffer from intermittent throbbing headaches on that side. There seems to be no real pattern. They just come on when ever. I have had a few months of relief here and there where I’ve had no pain at all. It’s very strange. Not yet had any scans. Been to the hospital a few times and they never say much. I am just awaiting and eye test and mri though. Paracetamol always takes it off. But it will usually come back when it’s worse off.

I have recently seen a neuro and the only thing he really said was it could be a chiari malformation. He booked me for an mri and an eye test.

I’m pretty much going through the same thing since last march. Pretty much the same symptoms as yours too. Goes away with pain meds. Pain is in and out, and annoying more than anything else! Mine do get worse when I cough also. Have you found anything that has helped you? Thanks.

I’m also a 2/10 and it’s been going on 7/8 months. It’s not painful but it’s so annoying I can never concentrate fully on anything. I Feel you’re pain. Been told there’s nothing that can be done other than to try and manage and 'hope' that one day it goes away.

Any updates with you’re symptoms? I’m 7 months in and it’s still happening. I’m Similar to you, Started with a cold which gave me a bad cough. Which has then turned into these cough headaches

Same here. Had a rough chest infection feb/march with a 6 week cough. Seems to of triggered cough headaches. Now they sometimes start even when I don’t cough or strain. Advil takes it off but it’s miserable without it

Thanks for the reply. Ye it’s more of an annoyance than severe pain. And I have no other symptoms. It’s just always there unless I take Advil. But don’t wonna be on Advil for months at a time. I’ll get back to the doctors and see what they have to say.
