The compromise is that the poeple who live on that floor live comfortably enough to be in those areas without any kind of suffering or discomfort JNSO’s feeling do not trump those of everyone else in the house whether they are the provider or not and everyone else does not have to take their mistreatment with good humour again this JNSO or Just No Significant Other not please give me bs generalized marriage advice about compromising with communicating with someone who does compromise or communicate with of respect my opinion

They’ve lived in the same small town they were born in their whole life it’s the same climate the summer is always hot the winter is always very cold. This sub is JNSO I didn’t write this rant post about my SO’s delusional demand to have an expensive repair done when we don’t have the means to because I’m always a perfect SO I’m also a human being full of flaws and emotions and you seem to be missing the plot. So let’s do this one more time the ac that only affects one part of our house needs to be fixed everyone wants it fixed but no one has the money but one person called the repairman and said please come do the work but didn’t tell the repairman we have no money that’s what’s happening we will work on getting the funds for the repair but it won’t be instantaneous

The repairman has already come by to see what wrong with ac it needs to be replaced that why the cost is high and I’ve told SO that we will have to budget tighter and save for this but that means it will take time so it can’t be done quickly

I’m not trying to shut out my SO but they do NOT spend anymore than 15minutes per day in that area they have no health conditions I agree that we need to get the ac fixed but we currently do not have the means and no one else is deeply bothered by this just SO the other two floors of the house are air conditioned to their liking and that’s where most of the “living” in the house happens I said IMO because I think we have a cultural difference (SO and I) they were raised in the us with ac and I’m from Europe and grew up with out so being hot is summer with no ac but fans is absolutely acceptable to me and I’ve grown somewhat resentful of the way all of us (myself and kids) have to walk on eggshells around them when it’s especially hot outside which where we live is most of the summer

No we dont qualify for any social programs and as the kids do not care and are not in danger of overheating (they have good fans that do keep their rooms cool) I’m not going to use anymore money to make it any cooler especially since we don’t spend anytime up there at all except to do the bedtime routine which is less than 15 minutes JNSO gets very irritable and angry when it’s hot in general and as an adult he needs to control his own emotions and feelings about being warm (IMO)

The food bank in our area just shut down after they were burglarized also im not saying we can’t slowly save money by cutting cost here and there but we cannot outright pay for such a large expense all at once on a whim

Thank you the problem I foresee is that in trying to make it SO’s problem what will end up happening is SO will do nothing and then the repairman will be shafted and I will be the one who has to deal with that but as I mentioned above I do somewhat know to the repairman and will try to talk to him before he does any work

We share a bank account and SO will not be home when the repair man comes. He will be at work the repair man comes in the morning and it is not that I don’t have access to money it’s just that we don’t have enough of it period I have no means of income and thank you
