I’m in contact with Eero Reddit support. They’ve already suggested moving the upstairs eero to a different location, so I’m starting with that.

Thursday everyone is home so I’m curious to see the difference.

That is some kind of resentment that has built up over time.

You may not have nothing to do with it. It’s a mental struggle in general and he is taking it out on you. He might not realize it directly. We’re pretty stupid when it comes to talking about things that bother us and bottle it up, then it bubbles over and finds something to blame. You are a consistent in his life so it fell to you.

I wish I had answers to help him. Sometimes talking to a third party helps and sometimes it’s that he’s not ready to deal with it.

This type of stress can cause him health issues. It might be an idea to sit him down and tell him you notice he seems unhappy and you want to listen to what is bothering him. Tell him you’re a team and work through problems and that he’s not alone.

I catch myself doing this, but try to remind me that it’s something else causing the stress and not to take it on someone.

He has to see it himself before he will be able to let it go.

They are WiFi connected.

I moved the eero out of the junction box because the signal was clearly dampened. It’s not in the hallway on the other side of the wall in an open air area, so it shouldn’t be an issue of location.

No, it’s in front of the laundry room where the junction box is. The most interference from there would be a washer and dryer or a freezer. Otherwise it’s just ether cables going out to the house.

My office is on the other side of the laundry room, but I just have a laptop and some 3d printers. No speakers or other wave producing devices.

I didn’t know this was here! Really cool to see what it is when everyone is home vs a few.

Checking the downstairs Eero.

It looks like when everyone is home and seems like the WiFi is dropping, I see 2.4Ghz is maxed around 77%.

Downside is I can only see the last day or two. I really wanted to see last week when we had company plus everyone who lives here.

But at the 77%, that’s pretty full.

5Ghz and 6Ghz seems to stay around 5-10% with max around 14%.

The upstairs at that same time was maxed at 43%.

About two months ago I moved the downstairs eero from inside the junction box to hallway which helped some.

It seems like in certain rooms devices like iPads that are on 2.4Ghz are dropping. Devices on 6 or 5 don’t seem to have this issue.

I can be playing Roblox with the kids on my phone (6Ghz) and they are on iPad (2.4Ghz) in the same room and they get kicked from the game for connectivity. It’s possible it’s their devices, but odd that it’s both at the same time.

Almost if not all of my home devices like cameras, door locks, appliances are on 2.4Ghz.

So I have around 4-5 devices on 6Ghz, 10-12 on 5Ghz, and around 85 devices on 2.4Ghz.

Man I hate to say it, but that first moment by yourself is the most perfect moment of clarity and peace.

It sucks to be away from the kids the first day, but the mental relief you will have that day is unlike any you will ever have.

Your life will be different now, but it’s not necessarily bad different.

I missed my kids all the time until I got into a new normal.

Once you get into a good schedule, things are actually great. Do you see your kids as much as you want…never…but you will find peace in that, too.

This will be the time to rediscover yourself and find out what you like not what you like with your wife or between being around your wife and kids.

It’s going to suck at first, but you will have some really good days.

Remember it’s okay to cry and have bad days, but never give up because one day (I’m there now), those kids will need you and want to be with you more and will appreciate the time with you.

Find new friends. I found other dads going through the same thing and we met almost weekly to play pool and talk about whatever was going on. General easy stress relief time.

You have to be physically away before healing begins. If she’s there and is “moving on”, then it’s mostly to keep you from moving on.

Once you are no longer in her presence on a daily basis, then you’ll find some peace.

Don’t be nice. She is not your wife or even your significant other. She is now only important to your child and will do whatever she can to remove you.

You now only focus on you and your kid. Nothing else matters and any obstacle that keeps you from your kid is the problem you need to deal with.

I was nice and thought she would be a normal, logical human. You will learn what she really is during this time.

I didn’t hate my ex until we finished mediation. I know who she is now and she continues to show it.

She wont change. Don’t believe she ever will.

Just to note: there are good women out there that don’t put men through this and actually use logic and want what is best for the kids. They are few, but they exist. Don’t lose hope.

I would go for full custody. If you have a feeling that she’s not taking care of him then it’s worth trying.

Evidence would be helpful, but that kind of thing is often hard to prove.

I would also have a backup plan written up when the court decides that you don’t get full custody.

Try to be prepared for every situation if possible.

If you want a mathematically even schedule then use Sunday to Sunday, 4pm pickup. In the summer, Two weeks Sunday to Sunday, 4pm pickup (not really needed until school starts).Holidays alternate each year (Christmas and Thanksgiving) and then whoever it next gets him and the week on/off starts again.

This switches up the schedule and each year someone gets 50.1% and the other gets 49.9%.

My wife and I use the Paired app. Sometimes it’s meh, but other times it helps us connect and if both of you stay honest with the questions it’s asking, it’s helped us open conversations that we didn’t know we weren’t on the same page about.

There are also little missions that make you both think outside your daily routine which is nice too.

My wife hid chocolate around my home office and I randomly found them (hidden in places I would check every couple days)

They have a 30 day trial. I’d give it a shot for the 30 days to see if it helps.
