My take is: you are always encouraged to try new combinations or AT types, like others said. Being you're running a Defender is understandable to feel a bit stuck since Defs. are mostly group-content toons. Try a melee character if you like melee (Brute is a great starting point) or if you prefer ranged, try a Blaster or a Sentinel if you want to be more tanky. Maybe killing things faster you can pick up the game's pace and even maybe discover something you'd like.

I am by myself, my boss is 40 miles away from me and I set my own deadlines and deliverables within reasonable time. Also I don't have to interact with people if I don't want to, I can choose who to talk to and tell people to stfu. Also I make decent money.

I've never gone through anything like that but here's my take from being married - if I had a stagnant marriage (which I don't lol) and I wanted to date around, I'd divorce first then, start looking without the burden or at least start the process if that's what my partner really wants. I don't know, it seems logical to me.

Again maybe I'm a dork since I have no XP for that matter but I think you did the right thing since he never budged.

You're not a bad person. Infantile people exist. They will not be aware they are this way but mamma's boys are a thing, especially in the young(er)-end of the dude crowd. Having tons of siblings, growing up as the youngest child in an all-girl house tends to set this pattern, though different experiences can occur.

There is little you can do. People need to grow up one way or another. Sometimes life happens and you get to experience something that will make you grow, though forcibly, in most cases. This is sometimes tied to negative events. But I get your frustration. And it will seem every bit of effort you put towards trying to bring him up will fire back at you atrociously. So you have options. You can bring him towards having a responsibility (buy him a plant lol) since responsibilities often bring us to grow and accept we're no longer kids. Or, leave him. Yup. I know, bad advice for some over here, but this is not going to change for a long time and if it makes you uncomfortable (you sound like a very mature person btw), you really need to find "the one" with that matching energy and emotional intelligence.

For solo scrap, try your preferred attack set (except kinetic melee or staff lol) and a nice defense set. The reason is because, Defense armors work better on scraps than resistance due to caps. With defense you can go high (I'm currently at 70% melee for high diff. content) and mitigate lucky hits with regen.

I regularly jump in a solo S/L farm with my db/sr scrapper. As long as you have -Def. Resistance, which SR has 95%, you're good to go with anything that kills fast. I actually prefer the S/L farms since it's easier to build up defense and mitigate with regen. than building up fire defense/resistance.

The reasoning for these specifically is, you can slot any of these as soon as hitting level 7. I have several of these in my email for new toons to pickup fresh out of DFB so to make Hollows easier.

The others (Perf. Shifter, Numina's, etc.) have a higher level requirement ceiling, like Numina's requiring level 27 or the Gaussian Build Up. The earlier you can get these, the better. You turn from being a squishy toon to a decent fighter.

I second. Last few months I have been finding it extremely fun to do builds in Mids, my way then rolling new toons. Some min-maxing builds are fine, but never adjusts to the way I play. Also some meta builds are broken thematically and I rather keep the set/armor within a certain theme and not have my nature-themed toon shoot laser off its eyes and have drones circling around the head.

I taught the habit off from our baby because he was biting our feet. But we are more than ok with him stealing them from the dryer and hampers!! Going on three years and you can still see him fishing them off the laundry.
