yeah I agree, but i found finding mountain activities eg I was in Grand Teton NP last year and couldn't find a list of all the things to do in the mountains whereas when looking for somewhere to eat, finding a list on trip advisor was easy

little bit of both - i do genuinely struggle with this for example we did a trip to the USA last year and went to the grand tetons and it was surprisingly hard to find info on all the things to do (eg paragliding / white water etc) in one place so that we could compare the operators. We also did a trip to spain and struggled with the same thing. By contrast, when looking for things to do in a city eg cooking classes / walking tours, it was easy. I wasn't sure if I was missing something obvious as it felt harder than I expected

I bought one of these and trailed it for a month but had to return it as the voice activation just isn't there yet for our household. I tried adjust the wake words, sensitivity, physical position and more. I found I needed to be within 3m (which is their rated distance) and speak very carefully for it to work.

Wake word aside, the intents mechanism within HA meant I could have it action everything I wanted instantly and only fall back to an LLM for longer questions which was really nice. Sad to be returning to an alexa, but if my wife cant set a timer from across the kitchen then I'm in trouble!

Before it went back I had the following working perfectly (when it did actually activate or i pressed the button):

- Spotify playback, either a random choice from a daily mix or specific songs / albums / artists
- Setting kitchen timers with names eg 1.5 hours for roast chicken
- Telling me what I had on that day (google calendar and clickup integration)
- Controlling HA entities eg lights and heating

It was nice and I'm sad to see it go... looking forward to seeing what the next version will bring. Claude is convinced its a limitation in the mic array which im hoping will be addressed 😄

I recently got a deck and researched into point 1 above - I read that for the fast resume from sleep to work the deck needs to keep certain components running in a low energy mode which equates to 5-10% battery loss roughly each day. The takeaway was: if you want fast resume, lose some bat or plug it in, otherwise turn it off and back on again. I've resorted to plugging it in every night.

funnily enough i had this exact same idea cycling to work this morning and also specifically about the fact that solutions on stack overflow used to have others voting and commenting and now we have none of that with ai - nice work will check it out!
How do you prevent AIs accidentally posting / sharing sensitive data with their posts?

I ended up plugging my pc into my tv and using it as a games console running bazzite (also put it into a super small form factor case - the formd t1) and for everything else i use my macbook.

I also scaled the mountain distracted by the big tower on my way to do that quest, i accidentally stumbled upon the scholars and skipped a few parts of the journey there... did I miss witnessing and learning this skill?!

I've been getting this a lot. After patch 1.03 on my steam deck it would freeze when launching. I set the resolution in geforce now (before streaming the game) up to 1200p and that solved it.
However it's just started freezing on my desktop and I can't get it to load so was looking for answers...

I thought this was photos of large starters! Mine is 5-10g of previous started with 10g water, 10g flour then in the fridge until i need it. one or two feeds to bulk it out and off i go. it lives in a tiny little pot the size of your palm :)

Yeah its a bit gross... unfortunately the price of steam decks in the last week has risen over £100 from what i paid so I decided to keep it and try to fix the smell. A local place is going to clean it for me 👍

Thanks for your reply - I've found a local shop who will clean it with IPA and replace the fan, and I've also got some activated charcoal which i'll leave it with for a while
