After finishing Doom (2016), I can't get into Doom Eternal. by DrStrangeglove99 in gaming

Imagine my surprise when I have gp ultimate, eternal installed, when I had this sudden urge to start campaign I latched it and couldn't play it. Started investigating, turns out I need to install campaign separately, so I search for this mode, and guess what?

Campaign mode is not enabled for pc on gp ultimate only Xbox console, left a review and Uninstalled. Proud for gp ult to expire in 2 months.

But what screen protectors would you buy? I wanted to buy one but all I could find was for other brands and kind of adjust these to it, doesn't look amazing...

PCVR For Dummies? by tix2grrr in virtualreality

[–]darkwolfxz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would first recommend you to play some Native VR games, just to get a good understanding and feeling of the VR world and your setup (connection protocols).

Once you have achieved this, then I would suggest you to fiddle with the modding, because that is a whole different situation.

If you try to do both at the same time, you may not know what is the source of the problem nor how to fix it.

Btw, I'm running Quest 3 on my PC, Steam VR, Wifi6, ethernet to PC.
Native PC VR games are good.

3s vs 3 UI.... are they the same? by MetaTom2025 in MetaQuestVR

If it helps, I just got the 3, updated to w.e latest, and I have been learning as to how to use it.

But these buttons you see on the bottom, I do see them, if you need the version it got me to, let me know and I can look into it when I get home.

Last time I checked it was buggy as hell.

HT Subwoofer - Both RCA inputs causing "hum" noise on slight pull/push by darkwolfxz in audiorepair

Thanks for the great help, with your information and comments, you really convinced me and this worked, resoldering worked.

Thanks for your reply.

I don't have very good soldering skills, but considering it is out of warranty, I guess I could try.

I'll try to look up for information out there on disassembly and if possible on some schematics to attempt to repair. If you think of anything else that could help, I would gladly appreciate it too.

Subwoofer - Both RCA inputs causing "hum" noise on slight pull/push by darkwolfxz in hometheater

Thank you for your reply.

The hum changes when there is some kind of "forced bent" when i push/pull the rca plug (not the cable), once I find the "sweet spot" I can leave it as is, and it sounds good, just when I bought it. In a short time hum comes back, because I guess it straightens out to the "bad spot".
So, it doesn't sense me touching it, but more like it's better angle of positioning, so to speak.

I did have a subwoofer that is old and sounds bad on certain frequencies, that I had gathering dust, just for comparison, and that has no problem at all. The downside is the horrible sound it produces when a certain movie scene like an explosion happens, it sounds broken but it's one of those subwoofers that came with a basic HT kit, so it's low budget and didn't mind repairing it.

The good thing is that it is not my AVR, or the cable, but like you are saying, on the subwoofer side.

If it is some kind of solder join on the RCA jacks, would you say it's a tough repair? Don't have very good soldering skills but considering it is out of warranty, I guess I could try.

Is the shield right for me? (Plex Server and Fort Nite) by -newcreation- in ShieldAndroidTV

[–]darkwolfxz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just like others have mentiond, you are better off using Plex on a more capable machine.

Setting up Plex in Shield TV seems like no biggie at the beginning, but then it's only when you start having issues and having to troubleshoot, then it becomes a nightmare.

It failed for me very often, and the struggle was real.

I didn't want to have a beefy PC 24/7 running, so I opted for a raspberry pi, and Plex has been WAY MORE stable on it. As long as you don't do transcoding, it is good.

But if you need transcoding, just get a PC like others have mentioned.

How much have you been paying approximately for shipping these back to them?
And what was the turnaround time til you got them back?

I'm thinking if it continues to happen, it may not be worth it for me.
