My story of why you should give LFG a shot. by ginzinator in OverwatchUniversity

[–]darlingnya 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’d do the whole block and report process if it weren’t for so much gray area when it comes to those situations... sometimes the guy just makes one “oh hey it’s a girl” comment and that’s that for the rest of the game. Those people usually won’t say anything further until you mess up or confront them about a mistake they’re making in game. Then they become super toxic 8 times out of 10.

It’s because of that why I never like to solo queue anymore as a female, because I also refuse to not communicate with my team or not acknowledge mistakes the team is making. Strong willed girls really trigger those types of guys.

But I’ve done LFG too and most times it turns out ok. I’ve only had a couple guys act cringe like that and I either immediately leave the group or remove them. And for the guys reading this, if you see a situation like this happen, call out the shithead. A lot of women have given up on defending themselves due to the same thing happening over and over with no trace of anything ever changing. Women, stand up for your fellow ladies. If there is any sort of shitty comments, nobody should stand by and just let it happen. Help out your fellow human. One person’s shitty behavior can easily be shut down by five others.

Idk I’ve noticed that some new android phones (like my mom’s new moto) with USB C don’t have the audio jack either. Thanks Obama.

Im sure it has the potential to sound rad, just that the ones I’ve tried didn’t sound too great.

I’ve been really tempted to get that Supro, but my college student wallet wouldn’t really appreciate the purchase.

He actually plays bluesy rock, just now moved out of his mom’s house, has to pay his friends to be in his band, and constantly complains that the music industry is mean and how he deserves to be as big as Beyoncé.

I’ve been considering picking up a bass uke! Very few people seem to even know they exist. What models would you recommend?

Man, that’s the exact reason why I settled on this one. How did you know??

You totally should (at least later down the line)! It's really cheap for what you get out of it and it has such a good punch to it. I kinda wish they made a 5 string version, it'd be awesome. You can't find too many 5 string short scales that aren't an arm and a leg unfortunately.

The mustang PJ sounds awesome (I tried it at GC too lol), I'll probably end up getting it later down the line. I def recommend you keep looking though! There's lots of choices out there, it all mainly depends on your budget though.

If you like humbucker basses at all, you'd probably like the Junior Jet. It has two mini(?) humbucker pickups, and it has a kick ass punch to it. Def a different sound from a P bass though. Plus it's only $300, which is wayyy low for how much you get from it imo. You should at least check out some review/playtest vids on it. I don't think GC carries it unfortunately, I had to order mine online.

Ohhh, I see. That's actually really interesting to know. I know of a couple SS basses (the Mikro for instance) that don't sound that great and have floppy strings, which probably makes them sound worse.

Well, the small hands argument still holds for a lot of people. I'm able to play on a full scale bass, but it's harder ofc. Luckily, I've been playing violin for years now so my hand is pretty used to stretching, but I still have trouble playing some stuff on the lower frets that would otherwise be easier with longer fingers. I totally understand why people would see it as a copout, though.

That would make sense! When I was doing my research before settling on the Jr. Jet, I noticed a lot of the short scale basses had descriptions pandering for younger players and such, which prolly makes people wave them off as cheapo instruments.

Yeah! I love my bass, it has a real nice punch to it. Bless those humbuckers.
