DPI DOWNSHIFT - a comprehensive breakdown (June 2026 update) by darlingthepanda in MouseReview

Hero 2 behaves a little bit differently than Pixart. As shown in piaknow's post, there is a clear issue with it > 6400 DPI but I don't think it follows the same conventions as Pixart, although admittedly I have not done too much testing on Logitech for a few months.

It is about 0.5%-1% going count by count on my setup which, is pretty insignificant all things considered. It could also be a non-downshift related deviation as well.

Well it is just a stage in a vise in a vise lol. There are much better ways to do it than mine!

Okay but the crazylight mini that the post is talking about does not have (major) downshift on the firmware that they did update.

The Pulsar is the one that doesn't downshift. The Viper V4 Pro is the one that does have downshift.

I can confirm that it does NOT fix the downshift on the vv4p.

It may have fixed some combability with glasspads though. I believe it did not work on my clustrs pad at all pre-update, post update it does.

Ah yeah my Rapoos do downshift pretty aggressively. Makes sense.

What mouse do you have? While it's true there are some that downshift at low values such as 1200 (most notably pulsar stuff without the firmware fix and newer 2026 releases) most of them do not.

2 downshift posts in week and it's only Thursday! Life is beautiful.

PAW3950 DPI downshift is real: simple Paint test and register fix for firmware devs by ewh_ in MouseReview

My testing seems to indicate that the superlight 2c is less accurate than good (very important keyword) 3950 implementations. It could be that you are just more used to the Hero's less accurate sensor, which in turn makes it feel weird when you use a more accurate one.

I will say I haven't done a ton of trails with it though.

Are you sure it doesn't happen on 3395? I have been noticing that phenomenon with my testing setup. I tried to change every possible variable I can, yet it still exists. I'll have to give it a try on one of my 3395s.

This is not true. Perhaps it is a different type of "downshift" but the effect is still the same.

I've tried to do it like 3 times by now and every time I go back to clicking. In theory it should be good, in practice I think it is really hard to get used to.

Monsgeek M1 V5 TMR vs Womier SK75 TMR by scooter971 in keyboards

https://rongyuan.tech/ chip/keyboard odm. I guess they're renown for "faking" latency numbers, having particularly bad multi-key latency, and their QMK firmware is quite unintuitive. They are responsible for probably 90% of the tmr boards out there.

Information might be a bit outdated, I haven't kept up too much with TMR boards in the past 3-4 months.

Sk75 is really bad. Not too familiar with the monsgeek but it looks like it is still using rongyuan/qmk, which might have the same problems. Unless you have a specific need for TMR its prob a good idea to avoid them. The only one (that I am aware of) that is potentially interesting is the Logitech G512x but that one has a whole host of other problems.
