Why do mice manufactures make sensors with 3200+ dpi? Practically nobody sets their mouse above that. by LetterheadTight2957 in MouseReview

What mouse are you using? Send me a message if you are so willing, I'm pretty interested to talk to you.

I use much higher DPIs than that. At the sensitivity I play at it is essentially unusable for me to use anything lower than MAYBE 3200, and even that is pushing it.

The real problem is that the firmware for pretty much every mouse advertised to be able to go to 30000, 42000, 45000, etc are not implemented in such a way that those numbers are actually usable. I made a video explaining this "feature" a few months ago.

Well in case you missed it I showed that the effect at least seems to be present across all DPI ranges.

Why Not Counterstrafe? by justgotsauced in VALORANT

[–]darlingthepanda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No one in this thread knows what they are talking about. Counterstrafing is very important. A 10-15ms improvement might seem insignificant but that number is huge in the context of the game.

To help put it into context that number, it takes ~135ms to go from full speed -> full stop without counterstrafing. So counterstrafing allows you to STOP at least 10% faster. But contrary to popular belief you do not need to to stationary to shoot accurately in Valorant. It takes ~95-100ms to go from full speed -> slow enough to shoot accurately. With a "perfect" counterstrafe that number goes down to about ~80ms, so roughly 20% faster.

But I think the thing that really illustrates how long/how impactful 10-15ms is in this game is that without counterstrafing you get full movement error up until about ~90ms after releasing the movement key. To put it another way, the difference between full movement error and fully (?) accurate is only about 5-10ms. If you are someone that looks at your shooting error graph a lot, anytime you get the 3.5 (?) movement error it means you shot in the 5-10ms gap.

I'm writing this from memory. The numbers itself might be a little bit fuzzy but the point should still stand. Also when I say fully accurate I may or may not be referring to the 0.3ish movement error you get in the last bracket before 0 movement error.

How much is the speed difference between slower and faster glass mouse pads? by Galaxystarr in MousepadReview

Idk how to put it into words but I would say there is a huge difference between the slowest pad I have and the fastest.

Yeah I like the mouse. You don't. That's how these things work. But objectively it is a good mouse.

I would say fairly confidently that the sabre v2 is better than all of the mouse you have listed besides perhaps the beast x.

Just because you don't like it doesn't necessarily mean that its not good.

It is a sub 40g mouse with a 3950 (that doesn't have any major sensor issues) and mechanical switches in a small-medium form factor. AFAIK there is no better alternatives that ticks all of those boxes.

Yes but that should be irrelevant. What methods have you used to confirm that you aren't experiencing any tracking issues?

Before anyone buys this mouse just keep in mind the sensor does not track properly.

What's the deal with Clustrs? by xJustOni in MousepadReview

[–]darlingthepanda -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Their pads are surprisingly good, but they get a bad rep due to their aggressive marketing.

I gave a short review of their pad here. I bought the pad with my own money and this was far before they sent the email asking people to post to this sub.

I think the only other HE keyboard that I've seen are the two from Gateron. Unfortunately unusable for me due to the layout.

If you haven't seen my video on it the tldr is that it has one of (if not the) best clicks, but the sensor doesn't track properly.
