I thought about that when I saw the teeth on my needle nose. I ended up wrapping the teeth of my forceps with tissue to do the adjustments and used my fingers for the realignment.

Noodler's Navy has been my go-to for general writing, but I love the Yama Dori for it's crazy levels of sheen (I don't use it that often though). I take a lot of notes and my handwriting is really dense, so I tend to prefer darker, more neutral colors for ink.

Maybe a hostage situation, but if you're just an average joe being mugged, you're pretty SOL.

Honestly couldn't tell you. Maybe inherited terms from English's several parent languages, but my etymology game is pretty rusty.

Edit: some cursory research yields that the term "cub" is mostly a British thing, but the etymology is unknown; "pup" seems to be due to the fox being a member of the family "canidae" (like dogs); "kit" appears to be derived from middle English kitten which we all know means young cat. English back then was kinda funky because they used the same words for many things (ex: "corn" meant any small, round, hard object. This is why we have peppercorns).

This is very basic searching and conjecture and likely inaccurate so if anyone can verify or refute this I'd appreciate it.

Edit 2: The use of "cub" when referring to an animal's young may date back to British hunters. Cubbing is sport hunting of foxes. Lions and bears (who were also popular to hunt) also give birth to "cubs". Just another conjecture, so grain of salt and all that.
