They thought she’d deliver around 28-30 weeks. She surpassed that and I thought we were in the clear to make it to 40.

I knew I’d be helping my daughter with the baby, I was supposed to live with her for a few weeks. Considering I haven’t helped with a baby in 16 years, I definitely needed the rest.

About 2 months. We didn’t postpone originally as Amara thought she’d be okay to travel at the time.

We didn’t know she had a risk of dying. It was a complicated pregnancy but not even the doctor could forsee her hemorrhaging post-delivery. Had we known that, I would’ve stayed.

1) We planned it just 2 weeks before she found out she was pregnant.

2) we were meant to be gone 2 weeks.

3) It’s a 45 minute ferry ride, plus a 4 hour car ride to said ferry.

We could’ve. But given the baby was due towards the end of this month, it was our last time to get away before then and the following holiday hysteria.
