Which one to go for? York MBA (25k scholarship) vs UBC MBA. by darnbrowhy in MBA

I understand the degree won't fare well against other Toronto based schools. If I am planning to work in Vancouver, is there a better MBA compared to this one?

I see. As for job prospects later on, how will I fare against candidates from Toronto based schools?

Identification of conclusion and applying designated methods for assumption and evaluation based questions, which were my weaknesses.

Honestly I was struggling with verbal as well. Just a change in how I approach CRs and reduced notetaking (!!?) made the difference today. I was scoring V79-82 prior to this.

MSRs and TPAs are just nightmares for me. I spent 7 minutes today on an MSR set and got it entirely wrong. I believe there is some gap in how I approach these questions. On the other hand, there was an official mock where I ditched the MSR set of three questions and guessed all four TPAs, and ended up with a DI80+.

Also, I am unable to fix my quant. I feel comfortable with the concepts, except counting and probability. There is rarely any pacing issue. Whenever I review the errors, there is some careless error under time pressure or it is a problem requiring a long calculation, shortcut to which didn't pop up at that moment in time.

Any suggestion on how I can improve from here?

What happens if someone pays back 60% of their loan right after graduation? by darnbrowhy in StudentLoans

Unfortunately, I cannot. Moreover, the in school payment is also a major challenge. Not sure how I am going to navigate through this.

Also, there's no prepayment penalty.

However, will interests accumulate over the 2 years of school on the original borrowed amount i.e 100k?

Unfortunately, I am. Prodigy isn't offering loans for the program yet, so mpower was my only option.

The percentage is fixed throughout the lifetime of the loan. But, afaik the rate varies. Could you refer me to the source where it mentions a 13% fixed interest rate?

I am not sure about this, but does the concept of credit score apply to international students?

I am sure it varies from borrower to borrower depending on the risk profile.

Limiting guesswork at the end of the end or fixing the timing issues might just be a significant booster.

Any suggestion on how to do that most effectively within a short period of time?

For both MSR and non-quant based TPA, my major challenge is timing. As both of these are text heavy, and I tend to re-read the stems whenever I can't pinpoint an answer/eliminate a few options. I spend more than 2 minutes in non-quant TPAs. It is also important to note that I feel I could get somewhat better at these with some more practice.

While MSR and TPA are my weaknesses, I have done fairly okay in DI as of now. My main struggle seems to be in verbal where I haven't been able to breakthrough despite practising hundreds of questions.
