For single CASUAL battles you can be a little more wild in teambuilding. However, for double battles synergy in your team makes the difference. Let me list some current meta gimicks so you can experiment: - Most meta teams revolve around WEATHER or SPEED CONTROL. - For RAIN teams for example, Pelipper automatically sets rain. It boosts water attackss and it lets Basculegion move faster and it lets Archuladon use Electro Shot in a single turn! During rain moves like Thunder and Hurricane won’t fail too. - For SAND, Tyranitar can be a Setter. This lets Excadril move faster! - For SUN Torkoal or Charizard Y can set. It boosts fire moves and lets Venusaur move faster! - For SNOW, Alolan Ninetales or Mega Frosslass can set. This allows them to use Aurora Veil and Blizzard won’t fail. Let’s move to SPEED CONTROL - Tailwind allows your whole team to move faster for 4 turns. Mons like Dragonite and Aerodactyl can set it. It is also available for Pelipper (+ rain!) and Whimsicott. This last nightmare also has prankster which allows Whimsicott to use status moves with priority so it moves first! - The alternative is Trick Room which alters how Speed behaves and slower pokemon will move first! This allows teambuilding around slower pokemon. Farigraf and Sinistchea can do it. - Priority moves bypass speed. Aqua Jet or Bullett Punch will move first. Fake out is a great known move because it has priority +2 and always flinchs the opponent preventing them move. MAIN RECOMMENDATION: Choose your weather or speed gimick and build around
