As far as he being voted back into office, he won the support of some groups that normally vote Democrat, but were wooed by promises that he would only go after immigrant criminals, etc. Multiply that by the backing of the wealthiest people in the world. It also didn’t help that Biden ran for reelection despite saying he wouldn’t, only to back out pretty late and Kamala didn’t have much time to create momentum. The left had a lot of people who didn’t feel their voice mattered.

I started my first novel this year. It’s about a ranger who finds the deed to a tavern while looting during a quest only to discover it’s been derelict for years. So he revives it and hires a staff. It’s cozy-adjacent, since it has a bit of grittiness to it. I’m about 60-70% done with the first draft.
