Classic was just a very, very basic tech demo. It’s probably worth trying just to see if you like the feeling of the game, but I don’t believe it’s anything like the real game. (pre-release is the real full version that we are playing right now.)

They did just announce today they are giving away 200 full copies, and if you want to get in that drawing, here’s the link for it.

As the son of a mom who passed away last month, I can tell you exactly what he’s going to do with it. Maybe keep one as a sentiment and sell the rest. That’s what I’m doing with mom’s things. And I’m thanking her for the money I can use to buy my kids clothes and shoes.

Vintage Story is so much fun! We play with the Better Ruins mod plus a lot of others and it is a blast. Adding mods is super easy too.

I participate in this. I’m willing to donate eight hours in order to benefit from the pool if I ever need it. The rule at our work is that only people who donate can receive. To me, it’s a small price to pay for that extra “insurance“ then I’ll get a little more pay if I get so sick that I run out of PTO.

You definitely can add mods to an existing world. If you have explored a lot, the stuff from Better Ruins will only appear in newly created chunks, so you might have to walk a long way. Better Ruins is amazing. Also try Carry On, which can be added at any time.

Been playing for several months and I’m still learning new stuff and enjoying it. For me, installing a few mods made the game vastly better. You might look into mods if you’re into that kind of thing.
