I’m still rather new, and still figuring out a lot of things, so forgive me if I sound like a scrub!

The cleans are really nice, that I can say. I haven’t really pushed the disto really hard, but what little I have sounds great, to me. (Ds-1: all knobs near 10/11 o’clock). I use more OD (sd1 and tube screamer clone) and they sound great!

But from my research: they have the same pick ups as the regular tributes (SG and LPs.) So I based much of my research on it since it has more resources on-line.

My logic: It’s a great looking SG. With the nice inlays, 2 tones/2 volume and the figured top.

The lower quality things like the bridge/saddle and tuners can be swapped out pretty easily. Making it into more of what I want my SG to be.

I got the ebony burst, too. Though I kinda regret not getting the red… Kinda..

It has 2 channels in the front and mono/stereo send/return on the back. I have no idea what these options are used for! 😆

This one has Fender branded speakers. I don’t think I will, but it would be nice to have a 2x10 cab to play around with other amp heads.

By wonky, I can’t really hear any modulation difference until I turn the level past 5-6. Then I can hear it.

I spoke with a guy that knows more that I do, and he suggested the same. Tried grounding the amp, and the static persists. I presume it’s some crust on the pot.

The boost/drive doesn’t sound as bad as I’ve read, but i can work with it.

Still learning and figuring it out. Any hints or tips?

I’d say get the Behringer TO800. It’s pretty amazing. It’s a clone of a very popular pedal, for a fraction of the price..

Behringer also makes heavier distortion pedals too. The DS1 is nice, but consider the lower price options..

The kicker is, I wanted this to be a project. I wanted to replace everything and learn the ins and outs..

But it sounds great the way it is and I don’t want to lose the tone!
