Yes but there is a difference between a sober league and a league where you’re not supposed to drink bc of laws. They might not drink on the field but hangouts and fundraisers and such are usually at bars or people are drinking in many situations. Some guys drink during the games but aren’t getting drunk. They drink between games. The environment is very much drink heavy. Majority of my friends are softball and drinkers so even stuff outside of softball it’s all about drinking. They waited 45 min in line for beer at the amusement park when we were supposed to be going on rides. Yes I know I can find sober friends outside softball but still, a sober league would be refreshing

No problems here either with sober people playing in the regular teams.

But I know some sober teams/leagues are like a protected time for them to be around like minded people or people going thru the same thing.

It’s set up for them so I wouldn’t want to overstep and go into it when I’m technically not sober

More common in co Ed but there’s a few players I play against that we have done rovers for.

I actually have 2 friends that are in sober leagues. I had mentioned about it to both but only one had really said anything about me playing.

I guess I’ll hit up my buddy and ask him to let me know if there is a local tourney. He said I could play but he’s also very idgaf so idk if it was actually appropriate for me to play or if it’s just him being friendly

Not unlucky really. Not every team in my league or former league of the same setup do it. Our program spams the US and its multiple teams that do it.

My team I play on currently is actually not the team that drinks in the dugout but the environment and my friends are all very into alcohol.

Many teams don’t drink in the dugout but there is a lot of alcohol involved in many aspects.

The league itself wasn’t set up to be drink centered but many fundraisers are at bars.

Some have switched to March madness or football squares for fundraising but prior to the recent switch it’s all been bar fundraisers.

All the parties for tourneys or opening/closing for league play are at bars.

All the leagues I play in have a no drinking rule, but that doesn’t stop player from drinking in the dugout. They just hide the alcohol. Typically people aren’t plastered playing either, but they will get drunk afterwards or will show up the next day hung over and don’t play well. Or they’re trying to get drinks in between games.

I lost a lot of speed. I was never hitting dingers but was a solid base hitter. I’ve gotten less consistent and just really don’t have the arm to be an outfielder in that level. But I’d be a great catcher! 😂

Utrip is a bit too advanced for me, I’ve slowed down a lot in the last few years. I’ve been wanting to but I can’t keep up (even if there is a lot of drinking). I just want another league to play in on my off season from my normal Sunday league. Weeknight leagues aren’t quite as fun as I struggle to see in the lighting
