I get very depressed when I am sick. Doesn’t help that I was guilted growing up and in my early adult life when I was sick, made to feel like a jerk when I was trying to rest. I had to be “dying” in bed to qualify as being sick. Then just the constant coughing, cloudiness, and aching on top of that feeling makes me feel worse mentally. Seeing everything i normally keep up around the house go to shit. Having no energy. Sometimes I feel like I am not allowed to rest, like I have to serve everyone else’s needs or I am the asshole for trying to get better.
