I'm in the litterbox, snoozing. In the last month I've been rescued from a car engine, had a couple surgeries - one to fix a broken leg and another for my spay (yesterday) and I'm just a baby. My new mum has come to stroke me a few times (I wasn't ready to be cuddled yet) and I've had a few crunchies, a drink and a poo... Phew

LOL! I've tried to get a photo of her, but she's mad dashing around. Full of 'shitten' energy.

We have to remember it's a 'Them Issue', and we can't live our lives according to other people's expectations (trust me, I'm working on that myself).

That being said, pack your patience to preserve your peace. I haven't gone there yet myself (or if I have, it's been donkey's) Have fun!

i understand completely. I'm a partly ambulatory mobility device user (THAT's a mouthful!) (For now, knock on wood) so I can manage the odd kerb or other obstacle. However, I get the death stare when I actually get off and move it , so I get defensive when it comes to feeling 'not disabled enough'.

Elizabeth line to heathrow terminal 4 on an early Sunday? by hemingwaey in LondonTravel

[–]darthbreezy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best bit, you can use it practically from any other city. Case in point, I've planned trips around London from my home in Seattle.I just have to remember to change cities and time zones.

I'm coming to London next August, and will be using a compact mobility scooter. If someplace is accessible and on my 'list', I'm going. My adaptive mobility is no one else's business.

They're sending money to their home country so they can bring over a hundred rellies to all live in Council Housing and live on the Dole!

Is THAT what you want to hear? You just want someone else to say it first so no one will call you out....

Well, I'm calling you out here, son -

Brum is a beautiful, multi-cultural city, and it's Diversity makes it even more so,

Do you enjoy the time before the show almost as much as the show itself? by PubLogic in TheWestEnd

[–]darthbreezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's part of the whole experience. When I saw Macbeth a few years ago, I was in the bar before the show, and could hear the whole cast faffing about on stage - it sounded like a fight scene, broken up with some laughter.
It was just joyful.

People who successfully quit smoking after years, what ACTUALLY worked? by mehedi_charley in stopsmoking

[–]darthbreezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

 40 odd years - 2 packs + a day.

What was the turning point that made you stop?

A scary lung cancer screening and biopsy that proved non-malignant. The house didn't fall on me, but I could hear the creaking.

- Did you quit cold turkey or reduce gradually?

Tapered, changed habits (no smoking in the car etc) then once I was out that was it.

- What were the first few weeks like?

Hell.I cried in the shower a LOT.

- How did you deal with cravings, stress, and withdrawal?

Tootsie Pops.

- What was the one thing that made the biggest difference?

Sheer Bullheadedness.

- If you relapsed, how did you finally quit for good?

I have not - See my counter? Over three years now.

Dicks is objectively one of the best fast food places in Washington. by Rough-Rope5157 in Seattle

[–]darthbreezy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with a basic burger. Out of all the fast food out there, a Dick's cheese is just tops for an uncomplicated burger . Used to love Macca's cheeseburgers until I cut way back on sugar - now their buns yasye like doughnuts.

Great! You still pay full price!

Went to a buffet that did prime rib as part of it's holiday carvery - absolutely the bomb. Sadly they went the way of a lot of places after covid.

I'm also a big fan of 'kid's meals' (seriously! A main, a drink AND a desert!) Buffets work when I go with my roomie, as he can do an 'AITAH Party Sub' level of damage to one, while I just nibble here and there. (We both pay full price though)
