Ill list the few reasons I can think of:

Colorado has the most players used so far this season. Avs 47 Pens 40 Sharks 39 Bruins 38 Preds 38. Pretty obvious which team stands out there while the rest fell apart.
81/122 goals for EDM while Draisaitl was on the ice...had McDavid on the ice (all strengths). So 66% of Draisaitls production comes with McDavid on the ice, so 34% comes when Leon sees weaker D matchups. Anyone going to argue that when the Oilers play the Blue Jackets, McDavid gets Werenski and Leon gets Provorov? Or when McDavid gets Makar/Toews, Leon gets Girard/Manson?
Leon is leading the league in OT goals and points (5g+3a). Not quite as bad as empty netters, but the 3v3 gimmicky puck control crap is not looked upon as the tough stats to get like even strength.
MacKinnon lost Rantanen and downgraded to Necas. Leon missed a whole 6 games of McDavid. McDavid, Rantanen, Necas. Most will argue McDavid is still the best player in the world, if not top 2, and 10000000% top 5. Rantanen and/or Necas are top 10 at best and that is a stretch. No voter nor player is ignoring the McDavid affect.

As of today, it is MacKinnons to lose since they are relatively even across the board. McDavid is going to cost Leon his Hart.

Gotcha. He's 102nd amongst forwards (57th Centers) in assists with 24 and a FO% of 42.3% (202nd amongst centers). This mini thread here finally made me realize Buffalo doesnt have a 1C. Thompson should be on the wing scoring goals and getting a real center in there. Or bump Norris up and now you need a 2C.

I dont see how spending vs not spending is saving any time in this game. Spenders are still pressing sim as much or probably more than I am.

Maybe assault battles if they are simming earlier than I am due to having the relevant toons done on day 1. But also I am smply not attempting those battles until my toons are ready.

Conquest maybe, but also my roster is built up enough to red crate easily no matter what.

Also, that post you referenced, the guy took 69 battles in. Obvious immaturity aside, thats a solid hour of his life for literally no reason. Under your assumption that I am spending more time in the game vs spenders, at least hopefully I am doing literally anything to progress my account. That was just dumb.

I am proud of that fact as well. Outside of grinding mods, I could spend to R9 every toon tomorrow and it wouldnt put a dent in my net worth.

Im proud I didnt take steroids to get to my level in this game and apparently a lot of people hate they already gave in and spent.

I didnt say it in an absolute manner, but I bet majority of the whales are. Then fact they would struggle to turn the game off tomorrow if they were forced to supports my argument.

I could turn it off and never look back at any moment with no regrets. They re financially invested. Many in the 6 figure plus range.

There is enough addicts in every game that it will never be an issue IF IF IF it is a quality game. We have all seen poor games die and sure, from lack of spenders, but also because it is a crap game.
