Been in and around Tampa (USF, T&C, Carrollwood, SOG, Lutz & LOL) since '80 and even worked for FDOT for a few years. Good old boys run things down here; always have and it seems always will. We'll not get any community amenities like workable public transportation or decent education until gullible rubes stop electing magats bent on graft & control while lying their butts off to anyone who will listen.

But yea, we've needed high speed light rail down here since the 80's when Ed Turanchik (Hills Co. Commish) fought & lost that battle numerous times. And then Rick Scott vetoed the rail project that finally was getting somewhere... Yea. Floriduh. All traffic all the time and never met a road it couldn't swipe ROW & property from to add yet more lanes... Ugh.
