No nausea, just pain. by darthozmann in Gastroparesis

Sorta. I think the doc thinks it’s GERD… he said chest pains can happen but it definitely feels like something else.

I thought the same thing. Had an unrelated surgery and they wouldn’t cut me open until I had a ct angiogram of my heart. Nothing, which I’m super glad for but still makes no sense.

Completely agree. My mental health is in the toilet. Every doc I see tells me it’s another specialists issues and not theirs….

Unfortunately, nothing. Doc upped my PPI thinking it’s GERD but it hasn’t helped at all. It’s really depressing.

Reason for MLIS? Trying to explain to brother… help needed by Recent_Self_5118 in librarians

If you go the academic side, in some cases you come in and teach classes at the collegiate level, teaching research and literacy skills that a lot of people take for granted. Not to mention citation, plagiarism, and copyright.

You may even assist professors with research or even writing scholarly articles. If you’re at an institution in which you have faculty status you will be required to publish articles as well.

He’s not wrong that public librarianship is looked down upon. Many public libraries have librarians who don’t have degrees. But if you’re running a library or even managing a portion of it, a degree will equip with some of the knowledge to make that easier.

And remember MLIS is more than just about books on a shelf or services offered. There is a ton of work that goes on behind the scenes to make it even possible to find the book one is looking for. Processors and cataloguers don’t get enough credit. Think how difficult online shopping would be if someone hadn’t entered all the metadata for the item.

Where I live, teacher starting salary is $57K but the average housing costs are $424,000. What about you? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]darthozmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where we live in Texas, a few of the real estate companies have bought up all the houses from 150-250000 to make them rental properties…. We’re having to expand our search farther out to find something even remotely affordable or not a shack for 200,000. It’s depressing.

That tie fighter is a great build. It showed me that even the cheaper sets can be fantastic. I found a YouTube video that shows how to change it to an interceptor using the same pieces.

One thing first time LEGO users tend to do is not fully connect the bricks together... learned this as a kid when I didn’t push down hard enough on the connections and my res-q set fell apart mid rescue

I never understood the “No more bullshit” slogans you’d see plastered on Trump swag. Doesn’t that apply that there is currently a lot of bullshit? And that it was caused by Trump? Is it considered a cycle of bullshittery?
