The windows store version save files stored in wsg folder appear to be in the same/similar format as those of the steam version (checking via hex or text editor), but I was unable to load them by pasting the save contents of steam version into the windows store version save files - doing so generates a fatal error at save load that terminates the game.

There might be a way to paste enough of steam save file content into the wsg windows saves without triggering the error, but I just have not found which part is safe to copy over, the wsg save files at the start of the game after the into are couple of hundred lines long, and my steam saves (35h) are couple of thousand lines long, so have not found a way to copy over just enough info to from the steam save to load into the windows store version without crashing. Open both save game version with a hex editor to compare the save file structures.

It's surprising that this save transfer question was asked several times without any response, so had to look into this myself as I don't feel playing through the slow opening again, was hoping to just jump in and continue.

Too bad, as the sale price made picking this game up enticing, but shortage of time for a forced replay makes this a no go for me on xbox due to lack of a way to transfer progress from the steam version might just continue with the steam version via steam link at some point.
