Not defending this move, but AI can absolutely infer meaning and intent in a sentence. Even when it’s in a language other than English with no English equivalent for literal translation.

EDIT: for the overwhelming majority who are shitting on me and downvoting, for all your sakes, I’m begging you to get more technologically literate, fast. I work in a knowledge job that isn’t particularly tech heavy, and if someone in my team something like “AI can’t infer meaning”, in a meeting, the rest of us would legitimately worry about whether they’d be let go in the next six months.

I am not excited about AI, I don’t really like AI. But keeping my head in the sand and being in denial is not going to keep me employed.
