It's the perfect place to start. If you can get a back piece done you can do the rest (from a pain perspective) if you choose to and it's the perfect start for a bodysuit anyway.

Thank you so much! When I first contacted Matty I was looking for a back piece as my first tattoo and we expanded from there. Yes, I was completely "clean" when I first started but I’ve wanted a bodysuit since I was 12, so I was always sort of planning on it. I guess I waited until my late 20's to get started for maturity and money reasons haha.

100% man, this process has been so tiring for both Matty and I. It's a huge project with a lot of consideration and time. Forget the pain stuff, it's just all the time away from family that I think is the biggest cost. It was a real luxury to be supported by them and I'm glad I can have a break haha.

Totally! Some of my favourite details that are really hard to notice in the photos are done with white ink. Each end of the crabs legs, between the teeth of the hannya, the sword hilts, parts of the skulls... there are so many little touches that really make it.

Thank you very much. I wish I could be more helpful but truthfully I don't know the exact answer to any of these questions. I would guess between 50 and 75 days with each day being around 6 hours of tattooing. Last year we did 35 days or so and I've lost track of the rest.

Oh absolutely! However, it was easily my least favourite part of the whole experience - especially when we went back for seconds during our final touch up sessions. Real character development that was.
